Well, almost here! Only 3 days till be board the Disney Magic for our 1st Southern Caribbean Cruise, 7th Magic cruise and 22nd total DCL cruise. This will actually be the first time we have flown to a location for a cruise. Our flight departs at 6:45 am and has a connecting flight into San Juan at 3:25 pm Saturday . It will be myself and DW and my DD will be joining us for her 10th DCL cruise. Soon she we be Platinum. She is really excited. She will be arriving at the same airport around 3:45 pm Saturday afternoon.

We have arranged RT DCL transportation from there to the ship. We are required to pick up our luggage and then hand it off to a CM for movement to the ship. We have MAIN dining so it will probably be a little rushed. The DW will want to look nice for our first night, so we will probably head the room to freshen up before dinner.

From what I understand, they are having 2 drills on Saturday, the first at 5:15pm with the back-up for those who missed the first at 10:15 pm. We will proably have to hit the 10:15 due to arriving so late. But, we will see. The following is the itinerary

September 27 to October 4
Disney Magic

Day Port Ashore Onboard
1 San Juan, Puerto Rico 9:30 p.m.
2 At Sea — —
3 St. John's, Antigua 7:00 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
4 Castries, St. Lucia 7:15 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
5 St. George's, Grenada 7:00 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
6 Bridgetown, Barbados 7:00 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
7 Basseterre, St. Kitts 12:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m.
8 San Juan, Puerto Rico 7:00 a.m. —

So far, we have no excursions booked. The only thing we knew we wanted to do was the train ride at St. Kitts, but by the time we figured it out, it was booked. Also, we did want Palo for either Pirate Night (night 4) or the last night. Hopefully we will be able the time and date we want.

I will miss posting the discounts on this site for about 8 days, it will be the first break in a while.

More to come.....

Have a great cruise! I am looking forward to read more about those Southern Caribbean cruises.

We will miss your regular discount updates as well! I hope you were able to book your cruise with a discount! :thumbsup2

thanks, actually yes! Got a MTO discount, hey why don't come along. Still *GT/MTO/FLR discounts on the cruise! Apparently they can't give these rooms away. Thanks again

My parents and I as well as some family friends will be joining you onboard Saturday. This is #20 for us and we are incredibly excited to hit some new ports. Work has been crazy for everyone so this will be a much needed break.

See you onboard!

I can't wait to read your report. We'd love to do this cruise someday - but being from the area, late September is still notorious for hurricanes, and it's one thing to pull the kids for a week in April when kids are in and out on break, but it's another less than a month into school, plus sports/dance, etc.

They'd probably sell more rooms if they did these itineraries during peak times instead of limiting themselves to just Bahamas/WC/EC but oh well.

Excited to see some pictures and stories :)

Well, did my on-line check-in for the flight in the morning. Ready to go. The DW is home packing right now and apparently hasn't gotren very far. I packed last night, so I am ready to go. Will go home and change clothes and through the stuff in the car and head out. Should be on board about 5:30 pm tomorrow night. I will try to take some good notes.

I am really looking forward to reading your TR, as this is an itinerary I very much want to sail. I had an OBB for the cruise we just ended up sailing earlier this month that we were hoping to transfer to a southern Caribbean cruise in 2015, only to find out the itinerary wasn't going to be offered. We ended up sailing the cruise we had originally booked. While we had a great time on our cruise, I am still looking forward to sailing a southern Caribbean itinerary in the not too distant future, so I'm interested in hearing your experience.
Hope you have clear sailing and a great cruise!

Hope you're having fun! We almost booked the Southern when it came out with VGT rates, but ended up opting for a Western that was much better timing for us (took some patience in holding out for the rates to be released!) Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this itinerary!

I have a few minutes today, so I will start the trip report.

Pre-Day 1
The SW and I started our adventure by driving 2.5 hours to the OKC airport. We ended up being able to stay free at the holiday inn express at the OKC airport. The stay was nice but because our flight was at 6:30am we have to leave before the breakfast was offerer.

Day 1
Arrived at the OKC airport at about 5:30am and got thru customs. Got to the gate and was able to board in time to get off the ground by our departure time of 6:30am. We landed in Atlanta and had a small layover. Had enough time to get some Chick-fil-A before heading out to the gate. We arrived in San-Juan at about 3pm. We met up with our DD and went to meet the CM's in a designated area by the luggage claim area. We dropped off our luggage with them and then waited about 20 minutes for a transport vehicle. We got to the peir at 4:30, right at the time of the muster. Getting our KTTW cards was a breeze and we had to wait until about 4:50 to board due to the drill. We were required to make a make-up drill in the theater at 10:15pm. It was actually about 10 minutes long! Total easy and didn't have to stand.

Back to 4:50, went straight to the room and freshened up for dinner. We didn't change clothes. Our dinner rotation was CLACLAC. The first three nights were the dining room specific menu. Our server ws Kitka and our head server was Candice. I would highly recommend both of them.

We went the 8:30 show ALL ABOARD: LET THE MAGIC BEGIN. If you haven't seen it, the show is fine. It's designed to give you a little glimps of what you are in store for during your cruise. After the show, as mentioned before we went to our make-up drill. There were not a lot of us. It was around 10:30pm that we set sail. After that we turned in. It had been a long day. Day 2 was the only sea day! More to come.... Any questions, ask away.

So you're the reason they kicked me off the ship on the 27th! :rotfl2: It was a great cruise. I had Candace as my head server too!

Can't wait to hear about your impressions of the cruise.

We were on during the same week and I can't wait to read what you thought. And what you booked on board! :)
