Hello, I keep seeing these cancelled reservations listed on the boards, I have not
managed to snag a single one. How is anyone on this board able to get a cancelled reservation that was posted here, are you stalking the boards that frequently, or is it just luck?

I don't want to be negative, this is a great thread, but without pm's, it seems pointless to just post cancellations randomly and hope that someone from the Dis who happens to need that exact date and time sees it? Is it just me?

Maybe I need to check the cancellation board more often daily, I guess.;)

Subscribe to the thread and you get an email whenever someone posts in the thread.

One part luck one part getting email updates for subscribed threads.

What do you mean without PMs? The whole point of the thread is to set up a coordination. If you see a post for a cancellation that you are interested in, you are supposed to PM the person who posted it to see if you can coordinate a time to do so.

The people who post that they have already cancelled something are only doing so as a courtesy in case someone that is looking for that day/restaurant is online and able to go and get it.

I stalk the boards watching for what I need. I PM when I do and we usually coordinate. I got a BOG at 50 days out that way. By just watching, I snagged a Hollywood and Vine breakfast that someone posted they saw.

I probably check the boards 15-20 times a day. At work, I keep it open on my laptop and refresh a couple times an hour just so I don't miss anything.

Yes, I've been able to get quite a few ADRs from the November cancellations board. I also usually keep a tab open and refresh it every so often. Instead of going to the Disney website checking for them I just stay on the boards because I think it will be much more likely for me to get an ADR from here than on the Disney site. I was also able to coordinate so someone else could pick up something I was dropping, so I definitely think the boards are worth it.

Don't be so sure about that :) I've continued to miss the cancellations on this board(imho the problem is that one can only post cancellations and not requests for time changes here so if you have 2 people looking for time changes and both of you wont cancel unless you get the time the other one is holding cancellations wont work) but I was able to coordinate time changes for CRT elsewhere and was able to get another res that I wanted to change for by stalking the Disney site.

Obviously these boards still serve their purpose but it isn't the only way !

I was only speaking on my personal experience. Myself personally have been able to get several ADRs from the cancellation thread vs on the site, but I totally agree that I think it would be more helpful if we were allowed to post as you describe. Like I have a breakfast CRT on Nov. 20th but need a breakfast one for the 18th if we were allowed to trade or list what we need I think it would be more beneficial as more people are on the disboards than other sites. I have been able to use other groups to pick up ADRs as well, it just seems that I able to find ADRs more in other places than on the disney website so I don't look on there as much.

ahh subscribing would be helpful. I was not intending to be snarky, I was just wondering how so many were successful.
