I have not been to Disneyland since I was 6 years old (being on the east coast and all) and I was looking for some comments from the Disneyland experts on the new Nemo subs and the Monsters Inc ride. I need some fuel to add to the fire when I try to convince my wife into going there this summer. Pictures and videos would be helpful. Are the subs on the Finding Nemo attraction anything like the old 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ride? That was my favorite ride as a kid. Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

The subs are very similar to the old subs. The technology is very different. There are scenes from the movie just beyond the water outside the sub. In the old sub ride, there weren't any movie scenes. I do like the new ride, but the wait is so long and it's rather uncomfortable. (hmmm...don't remember being squished into the sub as a child!)

Monsters, Inc is a fun house ride. It's cute and a lot like rides in Fantasyland, but with a hipper edge. Terrific queue - I never mind winding through to get on this ride!

To me, the biggest "pull" to go to Disneyland is that it was Walt's park - it's the original. One of these trips, we're going to take the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" Tour, just to get a different perspective.

Monsters Inc. was a bit short, IMO. My kids liked it although I think it was a bit scary for them at times as they are not big Monsters Inc. fans in general (they have only seen the movie once).

For my 5 & 3 year old, Nemo was one of the best rides at DL! It was *ok* for me and my hubby. It has digital Nemo characters in side of a fake underwater scene thing. Not really like the original... other than the sub, lol! It does have a long line, we went first thing on a MM and waited 45min. The rest of the time in the park the wait was 3 hours... which would NOT be worth it!

Just my two cents;)

I believe that they are the same subs.....so any dimension changes was not on their part ;) .

My family & I really love Monster's Inc. The ride is just like being placed in the movie, and we did not find it too short at all. I don't think it's any shorter than the FL rides at DL. The subs are neat too, and the kids really like them. We like them, too, but it is a slowww ride. Sometimes, you have to wait inside at the end, too, before you get off, just staring at the wall from your port hole! :)

A "pull" for Disneyland that you might consider, is that it is not just DL, but the Disneyland Resort now. You said you hadn't been there since you were a child-the whole place has changed a lot since then, not just the two rides you've mentioned. There are many, many, great rides at both parks that are new or different than you would remember. Plus, if you have time, there is more to do in Southern CA! :goodvibes

My kids and I love the Monsters Inc. Ride, but we are huge Monsters Inc. fans. In fact, my DS4 was Sulley for Halloween last year and my youngest 2 boys are having a monsters inc birthday party later this year.

My kids all hated the Nemo ride, it was cute, the line was way too long. You are very squished, it is dark, and there are sudden things that can pop up in your little window space. My kids were scared and this next trip it is not on our list of things to do.

HTH!!

Thank you. We are big Monster Inc. fans too. I would love to visit Knottsberry Farm. I remember that being there as a kid but I never had the chance to visit it.

Oh, you should go! My husband went there a lot as a kid and we went on our trip so So CA and he loved going back! Lot's of good memories;) I had never been and was impressed! It was one of the best days of our trip... as Knott's was FAR less crowded than DL.
