what do you use as game prizes?

I like creating games but most people only play for the prizes. I, myself, have horrible prizes, and I only have so much. Lol, and it's not like i can go to the store and buy things, since I am practically broke and I stink at games.

So, I want to know, what do you use as game prizes? And maybe some suggestions? Thanks! :)

some people are ignorant and just have your boot ready LOL

you can use any prizes you want ;)

Woot the boot!
I use whatever I have in inventory I don't like or have a lot of, first. If I make a themed quest, I'll buy cheap pins or shirts (unisex, of course) that are in that same theme. Sometimes, I'll have a random 'good' prize of a magic pin or maybe something that others consider 'rare', but usually only one or two of them. That's for my quest kiosks. I've not yet had the patience to host a game. LOL Most game hosts use cheap furnishings for prizes, I've noticed. Don't spend a lot of money, it's all for the fun! If the players only come for the prizes, as Aengus has already stated, use the boot! :)

LOL, so I should boot them if they want a prize for winning? Would that get me in trouble?:confused3

(I have this really good game I came up with last halloween, and I can put it into action this year! Lol But do I need a prize to win best game?)

no Boot them for complaining if they dont think your prizes are good enough LOL

I do wish people just played games for fun, instead of for prizes. When I win things I actually don't accept the prize, to save the owner some cash.

Personally, I like to give something that goes with the theme of the game. And sometimes I just give a random prize. Something that I have treasured.

Remember: It's the thought that counts. The value doesn't matter, nor does getting a prize at all.

Good luck with your game! Hopefully you'll get a lot of people who do just want to play and don't care so much about the prize. During Dreams month, I know that a lot of DIS rooms had games going on (ie. Disney movie trivia, song trivia, ugly clothing game ... all in SorcererDonald's room!) and it was all for the fun and there weren't any prizes at all. Of course there were a few people that asked for prizes but I hope you get all the people who are more interested in the game! Let us DISers know! ;)

Thanks guys! :D I'll tell you about my game when I open it again! :)

The last game I did was last Halloween and I gave either mickey pumpkins, pumpkin bags or witch hats as the prizes. It did end up costing me a lot and I haven't had a game since...lol. I've often wondered how others could afford to have games running all the time.

When I ran my first game, my prize matched the theme, of Adventureland items. The prize was the Karo tiki chair, which was 100 credits the first time it was released. (I haven't seen the price on them since they came back.)

I remember during that time, someone told me I had cheap prizes, and someone else was giving magic pins as prizes. Bless Disvaclub for telling him that he should leave and don't let the door hit him on the way out. ;)

You will find ungrateful poopyheads who play the games, but more often than not, you'll find some really polite people who enjoy playing the game. And don't be afraid to boot anyone rude. :)

When I ran my Halloween game last year, I had used the pumpkin bags and spider dividers as prizes. But, I actually had an advantage using a quest kiosk to distribute prizes. Since you can't do an open quest more than once, it stopped repeat winners. I made sure I had an exit teleport for the non-winners (it sounds obnoxious to call them "losers"), and I placed a Tron teleporter down for the winner to get to my kiosk room. (I set up the Skull Rock room I had, because it was extremely easy to block the entrance to those who might follow the winner to my prize kiosk.)

But I have seen people give out cheap pins and such as prizes, and I see nothing wrong with that. I am a believer that nobody should over-extend themselves spending their hard-earned credits on prizes if they can't afford to give rarer prizes away. I still have both my game room and prize room up, and I wonder if I should open it up again. :)

When I did my tiki trivia game, I set up my kiosk in another room. If someone won, they got to do the kiosk. Sometimes, players will say they didn't get a prize or will wait around because they want a better prize. That can be the trouble with a kiosk.

I try to give things that people want. During Tiki Month, I did have a lot of tiki items in there, but also put retired pins, flip hats, cowboy hats, etc. Most of the people who played the games didn't have a lot of items and appreciated winning something that was "rare" and for me, making people happy makes me feel good!

Also, I did give out to random players a prize for showing a positive attitude towards others. Whenever I do that, I tend to see a lot less of the rude behavior.

= )
