Just wonder how long it will take for this to come about

How long do you think it will be before you will have to be staying at a deluxe resort before you can get the regular dining plan for free in the fall? I am sure it will just be a matter of time.

I can't see it happening anytime soon. There are just too many rooms at the Moderate resorts that need to be filled.

I don't think it will ever happen either. There is a big jump in price from value to moderate. I agree with the previous poster!

It is just to big of a price jump from the values to a moderate just to get the sit down dinning let alone a jump from a moderate to a deluxe. My husband and I are staying in two weeks at a mod with the room discount we would have loved to stay at AK but that was just way to much $$ to pay for a room. We would love to stay at a mod with the kids but the $$ difference will pay for a lot of souveniors for the kiddos.

I thought that I read somewhere, not sure, but over in the UK, this is how some of the packages had to be booked, with a deluxe to get the regular dp.
Did they not start this tierd system with the UK before it came to us here in the US? I may be totally off base, but I don't know.

I think if they are going to go with the tiered system they should have the deluxe dining plan for deluxe resorts. I still can't afford to stay there but hey it would make me try harder!

This idea was posted on another thread, and frankly this will never happen. Disney will never give away the deluxe dining for free.

Agreed, but is still nice to dream. The deluxe dining is something we would never buy because it is just way too much food for us, but if it was free we would certainly give it a try.

Last year, the kids and I joked about Disney offering it because of the super slow economy and even went as far as picking the signature restaurants we would eat at and the places we might try for breakfast.

Given that it didn't happen last year with the really low attendance levels I would agree that this is never going to happen.

It's funny because when I saw that the Visa Kids Free was for stay, play, and dine. Then Disney put out just the Kids Stay and Play free. It made me wonder if they would do something like that for the Free Dining.

I noticed the Visa deal was tiered, curious as to if they will keep this the same for GP or if they would do the values and mods QS and deluxe DDP.

Guess we will all find out Monday, huh?

You should call DIsney tomorrow, a few people have said they called CRO and were told to call back Sunday. Can't hurt. Not sure where the posts are, but it was on here.

It's okay. I have a Disney Visa. I'm booked and ready to go Can't wait for free food.

BTW on the Disney Rewards website it said that would be available to the GP on Monday. But of course they could be wrong.
