We found a used class A that picky, picky DH thought that he could live with. Spent two hours going over inspection with the dealership, everything worked except the four way flashers. Put down a deposit pending fixing of that.

Fast forward two weeks, and they're trying to offer us $600 off (of a 18K purchase) because it's "not cost efficient" for them to put the time and $$ into fixing them! DH feels that since it's a big time safety issue, that we better keep on looking for something else.

I know they sell motorhomes "as is", and can do what they want, but I'm frustrated because it's not like the light over the bed is blown, this is a major safety issue!

Ah, well, back to searching, I guess.

Unless one of you can convince my husband this is an "easy" fix ;).

TIA!

Terri

Wow, in VA if the flashers do not work it fails state inspection. So you made the right move to walk away if they do not want to fix a safety item. Just keep looking, the right rig and deal will come your way.

The flasher issue could be as simple as bad flasher relay, or as complicated as wiring issues. My guess is that after 2 weeks they already know its not a bad relay, and do not want to pay a tech for the hours it would take to track down the real issue.

Walk away, a good dealer would fix anything that is wrong with their unit that they sold. Hope you find something.

Agree with walking away.

Even in MS that would not pass inspection and would be illegal to have on the road. Interesting the dealer wasn't willing to fix something that most laws and inspections require.

Did you find this problem or were they open about it? Just wondering if the next guy is potentially gonna get screwed.

It showed up on the multiple hour long inspection that we went through with them (believe me, we checked every little thing). They dinked us around for a few weeks going to fix it/not able to fix it/blah blah blah. Finally told us it wasn't worth it to them to fix it and they would take $600 off (NOT!).

So buh bye to them, we're back to looking!

Thanks all!

Terri

Yeah, that tells me they tried all the simpe stuff and it was going to cost 600 or more to fix the issue. They probably found the issue, just did not want to pay the costs to repair it.

That is dealer code for "this unit has major issues"
Your husband is a smart guy.
