I just realized small coolers were allowed into the parks-thanks to this board. I thought NO food was allowed to be brought into the park-but if you can have a cooler, you must be able to have food, right?? What is allowed-snacks, sandwiches, drinks??

yep! we always bring our lunch into the parks. we also bring in a big water bottle for each kid to have their own drink. (we put the drinks in the freezer the night before, they last most of the day).

We threw a few canned drinks, juice boxes and snacks like Lance crackers and Little Debbies in the bottom of our stroller and nobody ever said anything. I also had cheerios in a zip lock bag in my back pack. I even started putting ice in a zip lock and threw a yogurt in there for my son's morning snack a couple of times. I think as long as you don't go overboard, it will be ok.

We've brought a variety of foods such as crackers, granola bars, baby bell cheese, string cheese, juice boxes, etc. Enough to hold us until the next meal or sometimes instead of a light meal. I wouldn't bring sandwiches, though, because the would have gotten smooshed.

It is my understanding that they will NOT allow glass bottles or alcoholic beverages.

I think there is a "rule" against bringing in any outside food and beverages, but they never enforce it. I guess it is there in case they need to enforce it for some reason.

When our kids were smaller, we carried all sorts of stuff in: juice boxes, snacks like peanut butter & crackers and those fruity chewy snacks. Once we went through the turnstiles all of us eating....no one said a thing.

I never thought carrying in a cooler sounded like to much fun. If you get a mini-frig in the room you can freeze drinks the night before and let them thaw in your backpack and they are great to drink mid-morning or something. (Just put them in a zip lock or something so the moisture doesn't soak through.) We still carry in bottled water, as my daughter cannot tolerate Central Florida's water - she gets sick.

The people checking are aware that some people like my DS have food allergies. We have to be careful about not only what my DS eats, but also what has touched his food. Eating food handled by others can be very dangerous. Disney has no way of knowing who might be in a similar situation. This might be why they do not question a little food coming in. But, I agree with a previous poster. I would not go overboard.

We take a small soft sided twelve pack cooler into the park with us every day (we keep it in the stroller). We put eight bottles of water (cooled in our room refrigerator or cooler) and a few zip lock bags full of ice into the cooler. I figure this saves us about $15 a day.

There's a great bag on the market now that is PERFECT for Disney.

It's a cooler backpack. Basically you can put it on your back (it's the size of a normal backpack) so you can get through security. It's got an inner liner that is waterproof and insulated for ice. Then once through security it has a place to secure the shoulder straps and then you unlock the wheels and it has a retractable luggage carrier come up and you can simply pull it behind you. It's very very easy and not big like you may be thinking. It's just very nice. If you wanted it will fit in a locker and if you wanted to go on a ride you simply put up the wheels, lower the handle and put the straps over like a backpack again.

The coolers that are allowed are the soft side 6 pack size not large ones and they are the type you carry not pull. Some crackers and small snacks are fine.

They will usually even overlook a couple of sandwiches, but remember that the heat much of the year can be brutal, things like sandwiches can and will spoil unless they are iced down.

One courtesy to remember, however: if you carry food into the parks and do not buy, don't use the counter-service restaurant tables to eat it unless there are plenty of open tables at the restaurant at the time. Part of the price of the food pays for the provision of the dining area; it's not fair to use tables you didn't pay for unless they are obviously not being used by paying customers.

Just got back. We brought a small cooler, it fit about 4 water bottles, 3 cans of pepsi, plus it had a separate section on top for snacks(granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.) which was nice. It fit into the stroller basket. Had no problem bringing that one in, but I didn't see any real large coolers there, I don't think they would allow you to bring those in, but a couple sandwiches and some water bottles should be fine.

I agree about not using counter service tables if you aren't a customer. I think even if there are empty tables it would be tacky.
