And it was the easiest rental ever! Signed up for express and went straight to the garage. Went to get in line at the booth and a rep stepped up to show us what car was assigned to us. Didnt get to pick the car but were given an impala which was great with a huge trunk! No line at the exit booth and we we on our way!! Much quicker than any other rental and this was Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend when the airport was jammed!

Great to know since Dollar has been the one with the best deals.

Dollar is my go to for cars too. There is also a location in the hotel right across the corner from DTD Marketplace.

Avis Advantage is even better. You just go to the garage, look on the board for your name and your car number, pick up your car, and go.

We used the DTD location this past week. We reserved a car seat in advance. Show up. No car seat available. I was less than impressed.

This is how we did it last year with Dollar. Our name was on the board and the row number our car was in, then our name was on the car.
Maybe they don't do this anymore.......

No, this is exactly how it was. Super fast and no line at the exit booth like we normally have at alamo/ national.

Thanks for the review. I have a pretty good rate with them for this December, but was anxious because I usually use Alamo/National. I do have the Express membership - I think that is what is key.

We rented from Dollar at the Baltimore airport in August and there was a board with our name and car number on it, so we walked directly to the car and left. It was quick and easy!

Did you use their toll pass device on the car or did you opt out of it? If you did opt out of it, did you have any problems when you returned the car with them trying to charge for the device?

I have a reservation with them for 15 days, and the cost of their toll system device really jacks up the price on my rental - it's almost $9 a day for a total of almost $135 extra for my rental period! I currently have a reservation with National, and their toll pass device is significantly cheaper (only $15 for the entire rental period), to the point where my National reservation is only going to be about $35 more when I factor in Dollar's charge for the toll device.

I'm just not sure what to do.

I opted out. I haven't returned the car yet but I've never had a problem. I do always get receipts from the tolls we pay in case there's any problems.

Thrifty, which I saw a sign as Thrifty/Dollar has the same board. We choose the special rate and had a Chrysler 200 but the in car slip said any desire to chande the vehicle to go to the attendant booth.

Edited to add, I was signed up as Blue Zchip member to skip the counter....

I knew it was just me with Dollar issues in September. Part of it was my own fault.

I forgot to sign up for express so had to stand in the 45 minute line before I could go to the garage.

Then I couldn't see in the garage very well so I think I chose the most awful vehicle in the lot. The inside was nasty dirty (supposed to be tan but was literally black in spots where your arm rests on the door, floors were like that too), the vehicle had brakes that squealed every time you used them and there was a weird thud under the hood every few miles.
I actually checked under the hood when I got to the resort to make sure there wasn't a dead animal in there.

I should have taken the car back for an exchange immediately but it was a short 4 day trip so I decided to deal with it. I did let Dollar know when I returned the car and I emailed them afterward so hopefully they didn't put that car back out in the garage.

But I'm not sure I want to use Dollar every again. I'm glad to hear of a good review.

can someone give me the location of the one near downtown Disney? They have so many listed for Orlando, but I'm not sure where they all are by reading their locations.
