Just upgraded free quick service to dining plan.....

I just upgraded to dining plan paying only the upgrade fee of about $18. per person per day. I was able to get reservations for Ohana, Via Napoli, Coral Reef, and Whispering Canyon on the dates and times we wanted. These are new restaurants for us.

Are these good choices?
Would you choose something different?

We are not picky eaters.... It will be my DH, myself, and DS(14)

Those are all very popular restaurants so you did well to grab your ADRs now.
You might also consider Be Our Guest (BOG) dinner . . . it is also a difficult ressie to get.

We used to go to Coral Reef, but no longer do, it is very popular however. If you decide on a character meal, I recommend Garden Grill, we just got back last night and my girls DD17 and DD22 loved it. We also did Via Napoli and it is always good. Went to Ohana's on our last night and my girls and DH did not like the flavors. We also did BOG, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, 50's Primetime, Trail's End (near Whispering Canyon) but with a very large menu and if you find you need another meal, it is the most reasonable buffet on property.

The only changes I *might* make is to book the heavy hitters that are outstanding values for your DDP dollar. Akershus, Chef Mickey's, Boma dinner, and Cape May dinner cost a fortune OOP, Coral Reef...not as much.

Your choices of 'Ohana, Via Napoli, and WCC can be pretty darn good values. I'd order the most expensive option that sounded good to me at these locations (well, except for 'Ohana of course.)

However...value, like beauty, lies in the eyes of the beholder. Have fun planning your trip!

I'm going to disagree with you on some of this. Boma and Cape May are $42.60. You can EASILY spend that at Coral Reef.

However, OP upgraded from free dining, so is only paying $18 for the TS meal over a QS meal. All of their choices will easily make that a value!

Agree. Stop trying to beat the dining plan and just order when you'd enjoy most.

While well rated I found Via Napoli only fair. Some of our meals were burned black on the bottom such as Chicken Parm. but overall it was ok, just not great. For Italian I'd pick Tutto Italia on the Boardwalk, a short boat ride from Epcot.

Ohana and Coral Reef have always been excellent and fun. Other favorites of ours is Wave at Contemporary and Kona which is next to Ohana.
