I just received a quote from Dreams Unlimited for just under 3000, for a 7 night eastern next spring break (march 4)

Is this a good rate? I tried the DCL website, and ended up with a price of 4200. I need to book by the 30th of APril, and give a 1000 deposit.

We are looking at a cat 11 cabin, the window thing doesnt mean much to us.

How much more would you expect a family of four, with two boys aged 11 and 8 , to spend?

I can't see us doing too many excursions...maybe just snorkeling.

Will the 11 yr old like his CC? or is he too old?

I have two weeks to talk my hubby into this......help me convince him!

thanks!

That price sounds about right to me. We are doing 4 people on 7day next Dec for just over $3000, in a cat 9.
How much extra you will spend can vary alot. If you aren't doing excursions, then (besides tips), your biggest costs would be photos from Shutters, drinks, souveniers and spa if you do that. It seems like on our 4 day last summer we spent around $700 onboard and that was including our tips.

This year will be more one reason being we are doing 7 day. Also though we are going to do one excursion and I would like to do the spa too.

Tell your husband that he will love it. My DH was ready to rebook less than 24 hours after we boarded.

This price sound about right..IT is a busy spring break time of year....

We are a family of 4, and are booked in a cat 11..but in September, so it is less, but when we go at peak times, 3000$ just about covers it..

I think your boys will both love CC..We usually rack up an onboard bill of about 1200-1500$ Including tips..We try and let them pick a few things each, and then some souvenirs for us, and family. We do our own excursion (beaches, usually) which saves us lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Our first trip I had to convince DH also. DO it, no matter how. While onboard that first time, he kept telling me how glad he was that we went, blah blah..Now we are going on #4 in September, and he was the one who found the deal, and booked it..

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower:

We are on the April 1, 7-night. I wanted 3 kids . . God gave us 4 . . .try $7000+ for 2 cat 10s (11s don't connect) :rotfl2:

It sounds great to me! I am paying $2840 for a 4 night cruise during our spring break (March 26, 2006) in a Cat. 10 for 2 adults 2 kids (age 12, twins). This was booked the day dates were released.

It is really hard for us to pay this because we have been cruising in September, and our 7 night cruise only costed about $2500 that we took last year (September is the least expensive time of the year).

I hear ya!!!! Travel industry is definately geared for families of 4!!! It is almost double for a family of 5 (like us) when you need another cabin or hotel room!!!

We used to squeez into a hotel room with the 5 of us, but now with the kids big....21, 20, 17...when we travel all together on a cruise they have their own room....and hubby and I have a room. Yes, it is expensive, but much less stressful.
