Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

I got a 40% off pin, and was very excited to get some quotes... but at first I didn't book until I talked it over w/ the fam.

After talking w/ the fam, I made another call... the CSO threw me for a loop by telling me I was eligible to convert to a code so I could add dining... well, another reason not to book on that call since I now needed to re-crunch numbers.

We made our decision to book w/ dining and I called to make the ressie... only to find out my code was not valid for the dates the email said... (we were making Dec 07 reservation and the CSO stated it was good thru Jan/Feb 07... Not what the email stated at all... Anyway, I challenged him a bit, he verified the number, and had him dig and he "found" the code. Then he couldn't convert to the code w/ dining which the other CSO stated could be done... to make a long story short. I did finally get the discount w/ dining. The discount was exactly the same amount as the room only discount:

For 12/9 - 12/16 2007
$456.82 discount off 7 nights CSR, standard view, w/ dining & MYW+PH
or / same as
($456.82 discount off 7 nights CSR, standard view (room only)

I thought it was a good deal...

They are very confused. Needless to say, I booked that package. I don't have a problem w/ their promotions to subgroups (I have no idea what the criteria are)... I did not have a code any other visit, and who knows if I'll get one again... but I think they've got to get their act down so that the promotion details are clear, and repeatable between calls... Even the email states the discounts are for value resorts, room rate only. Such an odd way to market such a great product.

Good luck with booking your best vacation everybody!!!! Hope you get a code, AAA rate, free dining or something.

I got the 40% off PIN via mail... I was extremely excited called to book... two CMs told me only good through Feb 7... So I read the very large mail piece to them that had 7 different date groups on it...

After some consultation with their bosses, they determined that the PIN code was good but it is a ROOM ONLY code... since I can't get the dining plan on a room only reservation... alas, it won't work for me.

Good news, is a CM promised to call me back tommorrow if the code can be converted to a room/ticket/dining plan.

Just keep checking...
I know, it's ridiculous, but keep checking! This happened to me...
Called yesterday and got the 40% off room only (3 days ago I had no code at all btw  ), booked that. After all of the excitement subsided a bit, I realized I never asked about dining and called back last night. Nope - doesn't apply to dining. "OK, thanks - goodbye and thanks for checking!"

Gave it some thought last night and decided to call again today - since a number of people were getting discounts on the dining too with the codes. So I called and talked to Martin - "no, doesn't apply". But wait... a little searching and poof! :wizard: Like magic, there's a code that includes dining. Not the 40%, but something closer to 30%. Hung up the phone to discuss with DH and number crunch, called back and booked the plan with the dining package. I'm telling you - there seems to be no rhyme or reason at times....and MUCH of it seems to depend on the CM. (Even this morning - the first CM I spoke with quoted me a package with a 1-day ticket for DH & I, and a 4-day ticket for DD....the second CM said "can't be done...not even allowed in our system". Well, it was allowed in Martin's system this morning! How's that possible?!)

Had I just taken the word of the CM I spoke to last Wed., I would not have gotten any discount at all.

It's all just so......for lack of a better word, discombobulated.

This is pretty much what happened to me. I called Friday and had no code. We decided we wanted to change our travel dates so I called today and pixiedust: we had a code for room only. I said thanks but I need dining and tickets. I was put on hold and pixiedust: the CM came back with a new code for everything. Plus I was able to add an extra room for my Godparents and 2 of their grandkids.

I got this email that states 40% off as well...but only on Value Resorts.
Is that the same with you guys?

Also, how much did it cost total and how much did you save?
When you say you got a package with dining... is the dining free or you were able to combine them all together!?!? CONFUSED HERE!!

With the code -
9 nights GV Poly with 1-day base tickets (2 adults, 1 child) + DINING for 2 adults and 1 child
= $3005.26

For fun, I went to the Disney website today and priced out a few things:
9 nights GV Poly + 1-day base tix for all + Dining = $4337.80
And...
9 nights GV Poly + 1-day base tix for all (NO DINING) = $3537.07

So from what I can tell, if they offer free dining again - with rooms at rack rate, plus a minimum of a 1-day ticket (package above), we will have saved ~$530 with this discount.

This may be a silly question, but for those of you who listed prices with the 1 day base ticket, does that mean your package only included a one day park admission ticket?

You had to get a minimum 1-day ticket to get the package -
I got the 1-day tickets because DH and I have 4 days leftover from our last trip and I was told that all of us (DH, DD & I) have to buy the same tix - so we all got 1-day tix, then we will add on to my daughter's ticket when we get down there.

Ok, I got curious. I went to:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/index

and at the bottom clicked on Guest Services. On the page that comes up click on "Your Account". If you are already registered at disney.go.com, login. If not, register. There is a tab that says E-Newsletter Options. There are some places to sign up for offers from Disney. And at the bottom of the page is a link to Manage your e-mail preferences. I was not signed up for any offers so I signed up here. Now to see if I get anything!

I'm waiting for the Disney CM to call me back. I have a pin in there system, but they don't seem to know what the details are. She didn't give me the pin number, she said she will call me back today.

Hey, Thanks!
I didn't receive an email/postcard either, even though I thought I was registered. I wasn't set up to receive emails... go figure.
Let's see what happens...

I went to my account and I wasn't registered to recieve any offers either! I am sure I would have marked this when I registered. There must have been something wrong with their system.
Thanks a lot for this info- maybe I'll get something now!:) :)

Hey everyone, I'm totally confused. Are you getting 40% or 30% (whatever your % is) off of the dining plan as well? ekball, your total seems fantastic, so I'm wondering if they are taking the percentage off of dining, too??????

I called and had a 40% that I didn't know about, BUT I was only able to book through March. Has anyone else had this happen???? I have never had a code before, either. We are planning to go in September or October, and the CM told me that I may be able to move my dates to those months if I get the same PIN again for other months. I don't know how he knows for sure, but he said it shouldn't be a problem. He was SUPER helpful and very nice. I booked for March, so I could hopefully keep that discount (who knows if it will really go forward to Sept. or Oct. though). I haven't called back yet, but I am planning to try today.

IF Free DP is offered again, we are thinking of trying out Pop for 7 nights with that and then stay at CR for two nights, room only with 40% off as a separate ressie. I would get the 10 day Park Hopper on my Pop stay so we would need room only at CR. Since we would be arriving late, we would not need a meal our first night, so we would have that one to use our first night at CR night since you still have a day after you check out to use the DDP. I think we would only be OOP for one meal IF Free DDP happens. The CM I talked to sounded very confident that Free DDP WOULD be coming out in a few months! :cool1:

Any advice on whether you think this plan would work would be helpful. Anyone tried this in the past? This would be a good chance to stay at a monorail resort for A LOT less than usual. I just can't see paying that much otherwise!

Can someone who got a postcard with the 7 date ranges tell me what the deal is for check in Oct 21-Nov 3

Yes, the code that I booked was a discount off of the full package (just about 30% is what I figured out). I also had a 40% room only code, but the package deal made more sense for us after doing a little number crunching (ha! who am I kidding? I think I did more arithmetic yesterday than I've done since graduating from college!). Some people are getting room only, some are getting package codes at 40%, the codes seem to be all over the place. As you can see from my post above, I have heard it all over the past week...."no code", "room only code", "oh wait, here's a package code"...so as I've said before, just keep checking.

I think your plan seems like it would work fine - I'm not an expert on the split stay thing, but it soulds like it would work to me!

Your deal is the 40% off room rate. There are not package discounts

The rack room cost is $329 per night so 9 nights at 40% off is $1,776.80 add in tax and you get to $1,990
Dining plan cost is $38.99 per night per adult and $10.99 per child = $800.73
1 day base tickets for your party = $202.36

That gives you a grand total of $2,993.11 (close to your amount but not exact; probably slight difference is calculation of taxes and room rate used.)

The codes that are out are strictly 40% off of the room rates. You can combine that discount with a package but ther is no percentage off of the package. In the case of deluxe resorts such as the Poly the 40% off savings is greater than the dining plan costs in many cases (dependant on party size). For those staying deluxe, this is the best deal going. Even free dining can't beat that 40% off room rates!

Confusion?? No kidding!!!

I spoke to three different people and got three different answers... all in one phone call.

Some things all three agreed on (incl a guest services supervisor):
--you can book 3 rooms
--you can add tickets/dining...the discount is off room portion only

I have bounceback offer booked but was hoping that my sister could have booked the three rooms for our remaining guests. The first person quoted me this and was about to book when she realized we are more than 8 and grand gatherings would have to book it. Personally I think she realized when she tried to book what she quoted and couldn't she just wanted to get rid of me!!

Of course I coud book the deal and get two extra rooms but I have free dining and I assume I can't be on two different ressies!

You can book 2 other rooms for other families travelling with you on the same itinerary....you just have to all check in together!!

I can't even get into the math...it's not my thing and I've seen enough of it over the past 48 hours to make my eyes cross.
That said, I will tell you that when I called yesterday and asked if the 40% off code I got could be used with dining I was told no - CM searched and found a code that could be used on a package with dining. ???? Who knows - I'm finding what you hear is all dependent on the CM you are talking to.
Your calculations make sense. Either way - I'm just feeling very lucky to have gotten the code.

ETA - just read the post above....I guess when I was told the discount was on the package they were mistaken. Like I said, it all depends on who you talk to.
