Just the free item?

I had a coupon for free panties at Victoria's Secret. I went today and just got the panties. What do you guys do? Just get the free item, pick up something small or make a larger purchase. I'm asking because the sales girl asked me if I needed a bag for them. I thought that was odd because if I had bought one pair she would have placed them in a bag right???

I don't get free panties, but DW does!

She always uses the "free" pair on black, white or nude, cause she hates buying those with real money. But, she usually gets just the free pair and is on her way.

If I don't need anything, I just go and get the free item. I figure if I spend money while I'm there on something I don't need it no longer makes it a good deal

The cashier should have just bagged them for you and not asked if you wanted one.

just the free ones usually. I think they ask that now to be "green". If you just buy something small a lot of stores ask if you want a bag these days.

Sometimes just for the free ones, but usually it's around the same time I need something new anyway so I make a purchase too.

Did you already have a bag from another store with you? Maybe she though it'd be a waste?

Quite often I just tell them I will put it in another bag I have from shopping...the whole pretty shopping bag and scented tissue for a free panty seems over the top to me!

As to the bag, I would not want a bag for such a small item. I would have either stuck then in another bag or my purse.

I should have said in my first post. I didnt have any other bags. VS was my 1st stop and no purse. Had debit card keys and phone in my pocket.

I got that same coupon this week. Are they any good? What do they look like? That just sounds creepy...lol My thinking these days is in terms of gas prices and how many miles. My SUV gets 13 mpg, and the mall is about 20 miles round trip and gas here is $4 a gallon. The coupon says the value is up to $14.50. So, I will probably think of other things I have to do along that route to the mall to rationalize this trip, cause it will cost nearly $7.00 in gas just to drive there...lol. This is getting so crazy with the gas prices. I guess I'll still be $7.50 ahead and have a new pair of panties...

Anyone else started thinking in terms of gas/mileage cost?

My SUV gets 13 mpg, and the mall is about 20 miles round trip and gas here is $4 a gallon. The coupon says the value is up to $14.50. So, I will probably think of other things I have to do along that route to the mall to rationalize this trip, cause it will cost nearly $7.00 in gas just to drive there...lol. This is getting so crazy with the gas prices. I guess I'll still be $7.50 ahead and have a new pair of panties...

Yes they are worth it. But I also had other things to do at the mall. I had to return some clothes at Macy's and pick up Easter basket stuff. BTW I like the way you think.

I get the free panties and leave. I always say no bag/wrapping because I don't like all of that extra stuff. Usually carry my own reusable bag, etc. I get so many coupons that I haven't bought undies in years.

DH, who has never even stepped foot into a VS, just got a $10 Birthday coupon the other day. He was thrilled.

I have never been to VS (we don't have them here) but I have gone into other stores with free promotions with the intention of maybe just getting the free item and I ALWAYS end up feeling bad and getting something else.
Apparently I am a perfect target for these promotions so I just skip them now.
