Just stayed at AKV.....whoohoo!!!!!

If more reviews keep coming back like this, in a few more years we will hear all the complaints of having no availability at the 7 month mark. With all those "other" resorts wanting to get on the wild side of DVC.

And the nice thing is, no matter how many other DVC resorts are built, AKV will likely always be the "gnu-est" DVC resort!

I too was SO thrilled to read your report. We are looking forward to our first trip home in Nov. We have been playing with the idea of renting a car for the week. So my question is, how was the bus transportation to and from the parks? I have heard that the busses for AKV are direct and do not have any other stops, is that correct? Thanks for the info.

WE rode the busses twice. To EPCOT and from MK. No problems either time. Low crowds on bus. WE did have a car and it was nice to drive to other resorts, etc plus we can't stand how early Magical express picks you up. Wouldn't feel it necessary to have one again. Good luck!

34 days and counting until our first AKV stay I'm glad to hear the first few folks are having such good experiences.

I've always thought the "AKL/AKV only" buses would be a plus, but wasn't sure how frequently they moved back and forth. Good to hear the wait wasn't an issue.

Will the 1 bedrooms in the Kidani Village be larger than those in the Jambo House? Since the Kidani units are supposed to have 2 bathrooms, I'm wondering if the rest of the unit will be proportionately smaller or if the units will just be larger.

Not sure I'd want less "living space" in my 1 bedroom just for the extra bathroom - we seldom have more than 2 (sometimes 3) in the 1 bedrooms.

Yeah, the Kidani rooms are listed at 807 sq ft. So, the rooms are gaining about 10-12% more area compared to the other recent resorts (aside from OKW) to account for the extra bathroom.

How was the closet space/drawer space situation? It sounds like there's less clothing storage in these units with fewer closets and no entertainment center.

You have to upload the pictures to the web and then link them with a tag.

excellent...what level of studio was your room? I know there are like 4 different levels for the rooms

I think the flat screen TV really allows for better furniture dimensions and makes it seem roomier. The TV cabinets are real space-eaters.

After seeing the models I would have to agree. They are just laid out much much better and use space in a way that makes them look larger.

I love the rooms and cannot wait for my January trip.
