I am taking my adult son to Orlando for a mom/son vacation. We want to do Universal and Disney and will fly in Friday, Oct. 26 and fly out Wednesday, Oct. 31. I mainly want to see all of the Harry Potter attractions and he will do anything. We have been to Disney many times so want to spend two days there. Would you go to Universal for the weekend and then Disney for Monday and Tuesday or the opposite way? Just wondered what the opinion was with crowds and such.

Thanks for help with this first question and I am sure I will have others.

I like to stay on site at the HRH. It's so close to the parks, 5-8min walk. Especially for a short trip, we love being so close.

When you stay at HRH or the other Deluxe hotels at US, you get an Unlimited Express Pass. We usually hit the Harry Potter areas in each park 1st thing in the AM and then just tour with the Express Pass as we like. The US crowds will be bigger on the weekend, but I find with an Express Pass it's not a big deal.

Since your going in Oct, we love going to Halloween Horror Nights at US!! If you are interested there is a sticky going that has lots of good info.

There will be no hhn on Monday and Tuesday
Park will have regular hours and might be best to go then

Hhn night may have the studios close at 5 to the public

For such a short trip, have you considered just doing Universal? The longer you stay, the cheaper the hotels and tickets are. 2 days split= paying the max for both (unless you have passes or something). You could really make a vacation out of it with pool hopping, fun at CityWalk and lots of time to explore the parks. :)
