Just Slap a Band-Aid on it and Everything Will be Fine! 2025 Food and Wine Trip Report! (Updated 11/30!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Just popping in with a quick RL update. So for I believe the 6th trip in a row now, I have gotten sick right before a trip. Seriously, this is getting old. This time it's a weird stomach thing. Not sure if it's a bug or food poisoning, it started after going out to eat at an Indian place, but no one else who ate there got this, so I'm guessing it's a bug. Either way, this is an annoying thing to have on Thanksgiving of all days! I'm on day 5 of it, so hopefully it'll be gone soon, really hoping it's gone before our trip next week! The good news is it isn't horrible, like I can still eat a bit, I just feel gross and nauseous most of the time. I'm also wondering if I picked it up at work, we recently moved into the health department building (no idea why, we have nothing to do with them), so there are always tons of sick people around. I try to avoid them as much as possible, I take the stairs instead of the elevator, and I've been super careful about washing my hands often and using towels to open doors, but everyone in my department keeps getting sick now so I wouldn't be surprised if it's from being in that building. I guess on the bright side, I don't have to worry about gaining too much weight this Thanksgiving now! :rotfl2:

On a fun note, we book LL soon! We decided to do the premiere pass again this trip, it was nice in September, and I assume with the crowds in December it'll be extra nice to have!

Anyways, that's all I have for now, gotta finish cooking and getting the Christmas decorations up! Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The premiere pass will be really nice for your December trip. It's a busy time of year.

I hope your stomach is feeling better soon.

Quick RL update before jumping back into this TR!

This morning was LL day, and it went soooooo much smoother than in September! We got everything we wanted at the times we wanted, phew! And no issues with the app not working this time around, which was a nice surprise. :rotfl:

We actually booked fewer LL days than usual, but we figured with all the special stuff going on for the holidays we're going to focus less on rides this time around. We did book Guardians for almost every day, so maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get Disco! (and sorry for the spoiler, still didn't get it in September!)

Alright, that's all for now, I'll hopefully get this TR updated today or tomorrow!

Re La Cava....I could be totally wrong but I always thought La Cava was inside the Mexico Pavilion on the right and was strictly a bar and chips (Tequilla Bar). We ate at La Hacienda in October for the first time ever (been going to Disney for 1000 years). We absolutely loved it and couldn't believe we never went before. Always went to San Angel and were upset about a few things the last few trips and vowed no more. From now on, it's Hacienda for us. (I think the name is actually La Hacienda de San Angel which totally confsues everyone with the 'real San Angel in the Pavilion.)

Ignore if this was previously mentioned.

Sorry, I got so far behind on your trip report and I am so sorry about the passing of Dug

I just started going to my high school shows instead, which may not have been “professional”, but they did feature THE Chris Evans, so I mean, they were pretty much professional. And yes, I went to high school with Captain America.)
This is so cool! Do you have any old pics?

We did a bit more exploring of France first, and for some reason I decided to hide behind a plant? :rotfl2:
That's hilarious!

Honestly, they weren’t bad, they were just like a chip, crisp and salty. I only had one, meanwhile my mom devoured her entire bowl.
Oh goodness!

I had to laugh because she also ate ALL the guac that was at the table, like I looked over at one point and she had half the guac from our table on a single chip!
:rotfl2:

Yeah, La Cava is inside the pyramid, but they moved the La Cava experience across the "street" to La Hacienda. I'm guessing to get extra space and for a quieter environment.

The only time we've ever ate at La Hacienda was during the tequila lunch when it was offered during the F&W fest, I'm not sure if it was from the same menu, but that food was amazing! We'll need to eat there one of these trips when it's not a special event!

Thank you!

I'm sure I do at my parents house. I need to make a trip up there sometime, there's a bunch of stuff I've been wanting to bring back to my house!
That's hilarious!
Yeah, I guess I was in a goofy mood that morning! :rotfl2:
Oh goodness!
I'm really surprised that they weren't bad at all! Granted it probably helped having had so many shots already!
I was low key mad about this, that was good guac! At least one of us got to enjoy it!

Day 3, Part 4: Trying More Food and Wine!

We last left off finishing up at La Cava Experience!

I was starving at this point since mom had inadvertently ate almost all the food at our table for the tequila experience! Oops!

So after finishing up, we made our way to Flavors from Fire to get some food!

Here, we both picked up the new beef skewer.

I loved mine, thought this was a great addition to the fest, but my mom’s piece was super fatty so she didn’t like this dish at all.

By the time we wrapped up eating we were well into our return time for our LL for Guardians, so made our way over there.

There was a pretty decent wait in the LL this day, about 35 minutes. It’s odd, some days the wait is super short with the LL, others it’s pretty long. Wonder if maybe the ride had been down to create a longer wait?

Anyways, we eventually got on, and once again got September!

And yes, STILL no Disco. Probabilistically wise I feel like I should have gotten it at least once by now!

Now I had read earlier this morning that a new surprise food booth had opened at Communicore Hall, so we headed that way to check it out. I was confused when we got there and saw it was all roped off, so we looped around the building before seeing that unlike in the report I read that it was the booth IN Communicore Hall, it was just the festival favorites booth on the outside. Bad reporting there. Anyways, we stopped so could get the fried cheese with spicy mango ketchup. They used to have this at the India booth, and I used to love it, so I’m thrilled I could get it again.

I’m happy to say it was just as good as I remembered it! I need to find a recipe to make this at home, none of the Indian restaurants around me have fried paneer, but I do have an air fryer so I’m sure I can make it on my own.

After finishing up the food, we headed back to the hotel for a much needed break. After all that drinking we both needed to lay down for a bit and rehydrate!

We got back to the room to find housekeeping had put my ears on display!
