Tomorrow is dh's 35th birthday, so I ordered 35 balloons to be delivered to his office. I wish I could be there to see his face!!!

Anyone have any other ideas about what I can do (last minute) to make his
35th birthday special? :cheer2: I have reservations at a very nice restaurant tomorrow night for our family (parents, grandparents).

Sorry, no ideas. Just wanted to say you are brave & your DH must have a good sense of humor... my DH would probably not like that! But I think it's a fun idea! :)

I'm sure you already have his gifts. But if you are looking for something more, any tickets to special events, like sports or concert you could get for him? One year for Father's Day I gave my DH a gift certificat to the Richard Petty Ride Along at WDW. We had a trip scheduled for that summer & he was happy & surprized. It was something he never would have thought of.

Hope he has a great birthday!!:flower3:

That is hilarious! I wish I could see his face when they are delivered.

Hahahahah that is AWESOME! I agree... sports/concert tickets? Or maybe a new gadget he's been eyeing?

My dh has a great since of humor and I think will love it (and the attention that it will get from his co-workers). Although his birthday is actually tomorrow, I'm having them sent today so he will have them in his office all day tomorrow (didn't want to risk them getting delayed with all the Valentines flowers).

I bought him a neat gadget that I think he will love. He really isn't into sports, so I can't think of any good options there. He does like music and loves his ipod touch that he just got for Christmas. So if there are any neat gizmos associated with the touch he would probably like it (I'm obviously a low tech kind of gal).

I really was trying more to think of small ways to suprise him tomorrow and make him feel special. I think I'm going to e-mail friends and family and try to campaign to get 35 people to call him (on his cell phone) tomorrow to wish him a happy birthday. I'm going to get up extra early and make pancakes that are shaped in "35."

I've thought about taking a cake to him to work tomorrow so he can share with his colleagues and students in his program.

Thanks again for all of the great ideas shared so far!

The 35 calls sounds like a great idea!! How about 35 cupcakes instead of the cake? A friend's DH put pictures of her & announcing her birthday along her route to/ from work once. Like on light posts, etc. He thought it was hysterical, she hated it!!! :rotfl:

Edit: How about a " 35 things I love about you " list?

Let us know if he gets ribbed by his co-workers :) DH did when I sent him a dozen roses with an additional white rose and one or two balloons for our 1 year wedding anniversary.

Love these ideas, very fun! I'm giving DBF a $50 ITunes GC for Vday, I gave him an ITouch for Christmas/bday (a week apart) so he will love the GC.

Aww that is sweet. I also like the 35 cupcakes idea. My dh would love that!

Wow!! These are great ideas! I think I'm going to use the 35 cupcakes and especially the "35 things I love about you" list!! (Of course, I think dh would be totally on-board with Sgt Mickey's idea :rotfl2:)

Dh called and the first thing he said was "Thanks for the balloons. You really filled up my office!" He went on to say that it had already garnered a lunch invitation from his co-workers (who wouldn't have known about his birthday otherwise). I'm very glad I sent them today, because he also informed me that he was taking off most of the day tomorrow!!

I feel a little guilty because we spent my 35th birthday in Disney World, but we have a trip planned for next month to Ireland which was the one place in the world dh said he wanted to visit.

35 cupcakes...YIKES, that will be costly. Here in the OC, cupcakes in most bakeries and even at Disneyland are like $3.25 (and up) each or a dozen for $36.00(and up) .
That will run you over $100.00 (+) for cupcakes.
Now unless you are having a huge party and inviting allot of people, I would go with a cake for you and DH!!! ::yes::

:woohoo: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DH!!! :woohoo:

You could make them yourself which would be pretty inexpensive to do and send the extras in for his coworkers.

I would definitely make them myself. However, I have found out this afternoon that dh's mom and grandmother both want to make him cakes for his birthday, so I may have to save the cupcake idea for another time. (It's too bad, our kids love cupcakes and would have enjoyed decorating that many!)
