Why is it when adults talk about how when they were young they smoked pot, everyone just says, "Oh, you're so silly" or "Haha, those were the days...", but if teens now were to do it, the end of the world would certainly be coming.

smoking and doing drugs was like the thing to do. Everyone did it but noone knew what it did to you after a long time. People went to concerts for the Grateful Dead and all they did was smoke weed.It was the "cool" thing to do.
Now its just gross, and ruins your body, and even kills you and everyone knows it.

Second of all, how is this in any way Disney related?
Last time I check this forum said "Teen Disney" not "Teens and Pot Smoking".
I AM TIRED OF DRUG RELATED THREADS!
What our parents did was their choice.
I do not think that you guys realize that smoking pot is healthier than drinking.
I would prefer to have everyone "High" instead of killing people drunk driving.

Although this Amendment didn't get passed this time in the state of Colorado (Where I live) we have been trying to legalize marijuana.
Although it is illegal to grow it.....
People have been breaking the law long before that in order to smoke pot. Now the law that we are trying to get passed contradicts itself,
how can you get ahold of the one ounce of pot if you can't grow it?
Our government is stupid.

Instead of spending all of our time focusing on who has the hotter boyfriend or who you had sex with last, we need to be more well informed about drugs.
I had to do a debate in which I had to prove why marijuana is better than drinking.
(I am 17 by the way not a 13 year old so I know what i am talking about).
Marijuana has caused no deaths at all, do you know how many people died in alcohol related accidents just in colorado?
Well over 6,000. Look it up yourself. Go to MAAD.com and get all of your stats.
Look at the "Blue Book" for the amendments trying to get passed because they have all of the facts.
I am not pulling this out of my *** for goodness sakes, all I am saying is that we need to be more aware of the truth.

Okay, i think this is an arguement thats getting a lil bit out of hand. I think some things have been said that were not necessary. Just because your 17 doesn't make you mroe informed than someone who is 13, or 15 and 16. Everyone knows alot about different things. This is a teen board yes about disney, but alot is more than just disney related. It's a place to go and talk about things with other teens, favorite movies music, problems and yes drugs. It's good to have others opinons on a subject.
Sure noone has died sdirectly from marijuana, but you can die from diseases it gives you[i.e. lung cancer] same as alcohol can give you liver cancer. I don't think mny teachers have given me the half truth, i'm in health and have seen literally organs and lungs from people who ahve smoked marijuana......not pretty at all it was disgusting [[btw it smelled HORRIBLE.]]
