I have to say it was a pretty great movie because of the incredible acting of Charlize Theron. I really hope she gets the Oscar for her performance. You won't recognize her at all - weight gain, make up (or lack of, I should say), hair, and clothes make her unrecognizable. The movie itself is very sad in many ways (it's based on a true story). It's not a 'feel good' movie, but it definitely deserves a looksy.
Christina Ricci was pretty darn good in it, too. NOT A KID MOVIE. Some brain-dead parents brought their 5ish kid to this movie and left halfway through it - but believe me, enough had been seen already to traumatize this kid for the next 30 years.

She had to have latex applied to her face, for the roughness of it, as Eileen was a "rough" looking woman to say the least.
Jean Smart and Park Overall were great in the lifetime version.
