DH and I took DS3.5 and DD5 to see Chicken Little over the weekend. It was kinda cute, but IMHO not awesome. That aliens stuff went a bit over my head, it was a bit hard to figure out about the sky falling the first time. I know that my kids were a little young for that movie. If it wasn't for all that alien stuff, I totally loved the movie. Chicken Little is a cutie pie. Any other opinions?

We also went to see it this weekend. My DH and I thought it was just ok. My DS5 and DS7 thought it was funny.

My perspective on this type of movie has changed so much now that I'm a parent. For instance, we've seen some problems with the popular crowd at my sons' school. So I felt sad for the nerds in the movie. Yes it was funny, but I still felt bad for them. I think my husband felt a little sad watching Chicken Little's dad not being very sensitive or supportive.

I realize that some of you are thining I'm crazy!! This is just a cartoon right? :teeth: I know and I'm glad my kids liked it. I just felt a little sad at a few scenes in the movie. Can anyone else relate? :confused3

I brought my ds5 over the weekend, as well. We both liked it, but were not blown over by it. I can't see myself running out for the DVD whenever it is released.

One thing I did notice, however, was that we have another Disney movie where the main character doesn't have a mother. What does Disney have against mothers, anyway? ;)

That's a very valid point and I totally agree with you! We watched it this weekend as well and while my DS6 and DD4 liked it a lot, DW and I thought it was just ok, too!

It's funny...the relationship between Chicken Little and his dad, for some reason, really hit home with me. It made me take a step back and do a little reality check...am I giving the attention to my kids as I should?...do I listen to my kids like they deserve?...etc.... I think my DS and I have a good relationship but maybe I don't spend enough "quality" time with him? Maybe I should be more receptive to him asking me to play with him or maybe practice his pitching or hitting for his little league games?

I don't know, maybe we're both crazy but this movie made me see things I didn't see or overlooked before...

I took my kids yesterday and I thought it was just ok. Definately not as good as nemo or Toy story

We went on Saturday while dh was working. My kids (12,10,6)thought it was kind of funny in some parts but I have never seen so many little kids crying in a Disney movie from being scared of the Aliens. I thought the whole thing was over the top and I can guarantee we won't be buying it when it comes out.

I noticed that too!

Saw this movie over the weekend.

Didn't like it.

I don't think Disney has anything against mothers, per se, but they sure do think fathers are stupid, bumbling oafs who can't figure out that it's o.k. to love their kids and talk to them even when they make mistakes.

Seems to me that Disney knows Mothers would konw exactly how to handle delicate situations. Unfortunately, this story was so lame, there really wouldn't be a movie with a Mom in the picture.

Same here.

Go figure...Dh and I loved it! We'll be purchasing it when it comes out. I totally expected to hate the movie too. Fish was by far my favorite character.

I enjoyed the movie. I didn't think it was in the same league as the Lion King, Beauty & the Beast and the Little Mermaid. But it was still good. I really think Chicken Little is cute, but I think he should have a little kids voice.

My 3 year old sat and watched the movie. That usualy doesn't happen unless the movie is really good, like the movies I mentioned above.

We saw it Saturday...in 3D

Possible spoiler

The 3D made was good. It was an okay movie. But I will say...some scenes were too intense for younger audiences. My DS12 & DD9 handled it fine, but my DS6 & DS4 were freaked over the aliens. For those who haven't seen it, the aliens (vehicles really) were like the kind in War of The Worlds. Lots of claws groping the ground, saws cutting, etc. In the beginning of the "attack" scene, a school bully throws a rock and hits one of the alien vehicles. The alien then turns and "vaporizes" her. There was an audible gasp from the audience from the parents of young kids. It redeemed itself in the end, but for the moment, it was quite scary. So, be forewarned.

Fish Out of Water was by far my favorite character...and he didn't have any lines :goodvibes
