Here goes the food review...
Breakfast
Main St Bakery
Cinnanmon roll - Okay, nothing real special.
PCH Grill
Buffet with Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Max. This was one of our best meals. The omelets were delicious, and the bacon was the best we had all week (I don't know why it wasn't the same as other places). The characters did a dance here with the kids around the restaurant and also limboed. We would definitely return here.
Hook's Point
Hook's seemed like a nice restaurant. The place was empty at 9:00 on a weekday. The server said the place is hit an miss as far as the busy-ness, depending on the convention crowd. We had an omelet, a dish with eggs, french toast, sausage, and bacon, and a mickey pancake from the kids menu. The food was good, especially the Mickey waffle. We would definitely return here.
Plaza Inn
Character buffet (kind of) with Pooh and friends. I say kind of on the buffet because they had servers to dish the hot food instead of serve yourself. Also, there were not table servers here to get drinks and check on you - just table bussers. The character interaction (Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Pluto) was fantastic. The food was okay (good omelets again) - better than Goofy's, not as good as PCH. We would definitely return here again.
Lunch
Blue Bayou
Two monte cristos. We ate pretty far away from the water, so we didn't get as much of the effect. It was kind of neat. The monte cristos were pretty gross though. They were deep fried in batter, and held a lot of grease for our stomachs. We both felt a little sick after lunch. We're not in any hurry to return, especially for the monte cristos.
Dinner
Goofy's Kitchen
The food wasn't very good overall. The kids buffet was pretty miserable (I eat off the kid's buffets a lot). There were a couple okay items on the adult section. The desserts were great though. Lots of choices (maybe 10 different options), and they were good too. The character interaction was good too (Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Jasmine, Snow White, Chip). They did a dance at the buffet every 20-30 minutes where all the kids danced. The characters sign your paper table cloth and you get a button for eating there. We would probably return, but not as a must-do.
PCH Grill
We had a pizza and an italian sausage with fries. The food again was okay (not superb), and probably priced about right. The place was empty - not even a quarter full. This was a nice, quiet meal that we would return to.
ESPN Zone
ESPN was very busy (the ambience). We just had sandwiches (cheeseburger with garlic mashed potatoes and philly steak with french fries). The sandwiches were fare (nothing special about them). The garlic mashed potatoes (which I am fan of) were delicious. We also had a chocolate cake desert that was a small bundt cake with hot fudge pooled in the middle, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was huge - the two of us couldn't finish it (and trust me that we are big eaters and never leave dessert on the table). Overall, ESPN was okay. We would go back, but wouldn't list it as a must-do.
Rain Forest
We had never eaten at a RFC before - just didn't appeal to me. But this place was really neat. The theming was incredibly done. DW had a bbq chicken wrap with fries (seemed like a pound of chicken in the wrap) and I had a pasta dish with italian sausage and a spicy marinara sauce. DW really liked her wrap and I really liked my pasta dish (the spicy sauce really hit the spot). We would definitely return.
