Just returned

Siegfried & Roy tickets are $100.50 each. That includes 2 drinks. That's the only price for both children and adults. You can buy them on the internet at Mirage or I think Siegfriel and Roy. I've had mine for awhile so I could pick my spot. You can do that on the net too, although you have to call to get the one you want. They do show the seating arrangement. I'm thinking Cirq Mystere was $88 and "Tournment of Kings" $44.50. A couple of good books for anyone going are "The Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas" and "The Everything Guide To Las Vegas." Lots of info.
Actually, the travel channel showed a little bit of both Cirque's and my grandkids picked Mystere. It is cheaper by about $20.(Balcony for 0 is $99, main floor, $121)
Thanks to all for the info! The M&M factory sounds great!

There is another show on the travel channel this Sunday on Vegas. Can't tell you which one it is but it's probably a rerun.

Lance Burton puts on a FANTASTIC magic show, especially kid-friendly. Tickets run about $35 or $40, which by Vegas standards is pretty good.

Rick Thomas puts on an enjoyable illusion show in the afternoon (not quite the caliber of say David Copperfield, but Thomas *is* good)

The show is performed at 2 and 4pm each day (dark Fridays) and if you get a coupon from one of the many free publications, it is only $14.65pp. Otherwise, it's about $20pp.

He's at the Tropicana. Be sure to arrive early enough to pull the free slot machine outside (on the strip in front of the hotel) for a chance to win free tix!

He takes a young child out of the audience to assist him during the performance...middle table, front center. Get there early enough to snag that table if your lil boy would like a chance at being on stage with real, live Las Vegas Showgirls! lol.

Anyone have any good suggestions on eating places? We won't do any that's too expensive as my grandkids are picky eaters. The buffets would probably be the best, but they do want to do "Rainforest" since we had so much fun there at DW.

We had a nice, casual meal at the America restaurant inside the NY NY hotel/casino. It was reminiscent of a TGI Fridays in some ways, but the tables weren't crammed together and didn't feel so frantic in there.

They had a kids menu (which we didn't find very often in Las Vegas!) and we played Keno while we ate. Fun. Great milkshakes there too.

The Grand Luxe Cafe is at the Venetian, is open 24 hours a day, is pretty inexpensive, and the portions are huge (you could split anything on the menu)! The menu is really varied as well. It's a slightly more upscale restaurant than the Cheesecake Factory (it's sister restaurant) but still very casual.
We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Paris. I think it was 11.99, but the food was outstanding.
We didn't eat there, but we heard about a theme restaurant called "Dive." Think Rainforest cafe, but a submarine instead of a forest.
Another Venetian restaurant is the WB Stage 16 cafe. The food is moderatly priced, but they brought in the real sets from Ocean's 11, Casablanca and a few other movies and you eat on the sets. Kind of a cool idea

Thanks everyone for all your info. on Vegas! I printed off the answers and added some restaurants to my notebook so now we have a starting place! I think we need a Las Vegas website! It's amazing the things you can learn on WDW!LOL!

You answered my question perfectly BobbiKK. And thanks to you all too DW Mouser, ivanova and Shannon. I was trying to get a rough idea of how much tickets for various shows cost from high to low and I can see that I'd better start saving early! I think that we may just go to Vegas next year if possible because I'm very intrigued! :D

Just back from Treasure Island and was very disappointed with the pool. Just (large) standard with palm trees around it. If the pool is really your thing, I'd do Monte Carlo or Flamingo. We took the kids (5 & 13) a few years ago and stayed at the Monte Carlo and none of us ever left the pool area! lazy river, wave pool etc. Just thought I'd put in my two cents! Whatever you decide, have a great time.

Jenn

PS Mandalay Bay is voted as having the best pool in Vegas but South of the strip and bigger $$$$

Just wanted to mention that my daughter told me that the restaurant mentioned above, called the DIVE, is closed and no longer in business. (It sounded great so I asked her about it which is how I found out.) It used to be in the Fashion Show mall next to Treasure Island.

Thanks JDM for the info. I think since I've already changed once I'll stick with Treasurer Island. We are doig 2 night shows there and at Mirage. I'll keep Monte Carlo in mind for next time though. I've also heard ceaser's had a good pool area. For some reason I thouhgt Treasurer Island had a waterfall! Oh well. Don't know how much time we'll have for the pool but am hoping to spend some time each day there.

Entering this thread late but has anyone stayed at NY NY? We will be there for 4 nights.

People who are suggesting shows- Blue Man Group vs O?
We have a DS15, DD12 and DD4. Is BMG age appropriate for DD4?

Thanks for all of the great info!

Christine

Raz24, All I can tell you is what my book says. It says it's not suitable for children under 5 and is only rated a 3 for children 6-15. Ages 16 up is who it appeals to.
