Bullet points from our holiday:-
1. Travelled with TCD. great on way out. Had a 18 hour delay on return! Im not going to mope about this, Ive had bad delays with Virgin (yes, Virgin!), Monarch & others so there you go. They put us up in the 5* hotel at the florida mall that was fantastic. my real complaint was we were surrounded by babies who, I kid you not, screamed the whole way both directions. This was our 9th visit to florida, & im afraid Ill have to upgrade in the future..
2. We stayed at the Enclave Suites in a 2 bed suite. The place could be lovely but.. the rooms are run-down, in need of a facelift. The pool area was lovely. Oh, & housekeeping was a joke. they always missed something. either no loo roll, towels, dishwasher not attended too. it didnt matter if we left a note out for the maid, they still forgot. we left messages on the housekeeping 3 voicemail 3 times & all were ignored. A shame really. Still, it was a cheap deal..
3. the parks. They were deserted! as we normally go in march & get caught up in spring break, we couldnt believe how quiet everything was. at epcot, NOTHING had a queue longer thean 30 minutes (even soarin' & TT). Mission space was "walk on". we ate at the coral reef & got a table in the front - marvellous. san angel inn good as ever. funny thing was, because disney have now introduced the dining plan, you couldnt get the fantasmic dinner package on ANY NIGHT, even though MGM was quiet. we had to do the hollywood & vine buffet. it was fine, though. we witnessed the accident during the car stunt show. it was very un-disney. the cyclist lost control of the bike on the ramp. alarms went off & we all had to get out v quickly. it was quite surreal. apparently he wasnt badly hurt.. anyone who went for the first time thinking the parks were at nomal attendance would be shocked to visit during a busy time! Tchoup Chop at the royal pacific was superb.
the new shamu show - BELIEVE - is probably the best show Ive ever seen. simply awesome.
All in all we had a super time. you can definitely see theres a recession on over there though.
Dixie stampede was v good. i booked it off of travel republic web site for £21 per adult. got vip seating, free drinks & popcorn on arrival, free flags to wave, free sovenir photos, 20% off merchandise.... it was a super deal that id recommend. food was much better than the other dinner shows.
I reckon we'll go back in 2008! gotta have a year off next year..
Im now off to bed..
