Well, my planned eight day WDW vacation ended up only being four days. I was supposed to leave on Sunday, 10/23, however I decided to leave today in case Wilma came knocking at WDW's door. My main concern was not being able to get back to SC on Sunday as I have a major presentation at work for Monday.

I was supposed to check-in at the Beach Club today. I had the AP best rate and Disney did not impose the nonrefundable deposit restriction. They allowed me to transfer the deposit to a new reservation for May 2006. The airline also waived their itinerary change fee. I was really surprised.

I really enjoyed POFQ. This was my first stay since 1999. I liked the new rooms and the bus transporation to the parks was great! I don't think I waited over 10 minutes for a bus. The resort seemed to be near capacity during my stay. The pool always seemed to be very crowded. If anyone has any specific questions, please ask.

At least I have a 2006 trip to look forward to now! :Pinkbounc

So sorry you had to change your plans. Hope your 2006 trip more than makes up for the inconvenience!

Sorry that you had to change your plans. I think you did the right thing getting out early.

Well, we're actually leaving FOR WDW today. I have a conference that starts on Sunday night and my wife and kids are supposed to leave that day. Hurricane's are just too unpredictable to warrant changing plans at this point—the last hurricane predicted to follow this track never turned north and made landfall in Belize, for example—and if they don't get out on Sunday, I still have a room through Tuesday night. It will be a pain to scramble for alternate flights if there is a problem on Sunday, but at least we won't be scrambling for a room.

I think I did the right thing also by getting our early as now the storm is a cat 5! If I was still there, I'd be stressed. I went through Hugo in '89 and would not want to go through that in a hotel room. Disney was so nice about letting me reschedule the BC reservation. I thought I would lose the deposit since it was an on-line annual pass rate. Someone called me this morning from CRO to make sure we made it back OK and to reconfirm our dates for May '06. The great Disney service is one of things that keeps me going back year after year.
