Did you know that the Disney Magic only tenders 3 times a year. Now that's a good thing because it wasn't perfect. They had us take numbers but they didn't use them. The people nearest the back door by Off Beat were the first ones in the tenders.

Bringing pop and liquor on board the ship was no problem at all and that's a good thing.

Getting on the ship was no problem. We waited 1 hour and they started loading at 12:15 pm. Our rooms were ready at 1:30 and the luggage came at 2:45 pm. Everything perfect.

Getting off the ship was even easier. We ate breakfast at Topsiders at 7:30 am...no wait, and then went doiwn to the 3rd floor to Prommenade. When the line started moving, we jumped in and were off the ship by 8:15 am. What a trip!!! Thought someone might find this info useful.

Thanks for the great tips. What time could you start making Palo's/spa reservations?

I take it you're referring to St. Thomas. Yes, they don't tender in there very often. When they do, it's only during the peak winter months when there are as many as eight ships there on any given day.

I'm surprised to hear they didn't run it well since they tender in at Grand Cayman every other week on the Western itinerary.

We sailed on the 1/25 also. They were taking Palos ressies as soon as we boarded (we were about tenth or so in line), and my wife was first at the spa (she went directly to the spa.)

We were able to get one of the coveted "Palos High Tea" spots. but was VERY disapointed when it was only one other couple and ourselves who bothered showing up! The Palo staff is pretty frustrated with people making high tea ressies, and not showing up! They had some advice: If you want to attend, show up at the designated time (3:30 on two of the sea days), and they'll probably have room.

All your info sounds like great news too me....just a few more days....:D :D :D

We tendered in at St. Maarten on the Eastern itinerary... it was a windy day with high seas... and made for an interesting experience.

You have to time stepping off the ship onto the tenders with the waves...

two crew people there holding your elbows and helping you step aboard... A few of the elderly people were having trouble and needed extra help...

It was kind of neat as all the cruise ships were tendering and they were all anchored with tenders running back and forth - it was grand central station out there.

We didn't tender at all on our first Magic trip, but did tender at Grand Cayman this time but had absolutely no problem. We went to the Walt Disney Theater and were handed tickets with "#2" on them. Sat for just a few minutes and when they had enough for the tender we were led to it. No problems getting back either. They ran things very, very smoothly.

I think that's horrible about people not showing up for High Tea! We did the first session on our 1/4 cruise and it appeared to be at capacity, but we heard from others that the second session was not...very unfair, since some of our tablemates couldn't get ressies. By the time it starts and people don't show up, it's probably too late to start calling those on the waiting list. I think that Disney should impose a no-show fee, and it should be high enough to cause the rude people some pain ($20 to $25). I think that high tea is one of the best experiences on the Magic, and it's awful that some people do not get to do it due to the rudeness and carelessness of others.
I know I am ranting, but I LOVE high tea and I hate to hear about others who were not able to experience this elegant and awesome event. It's the only thing I really miss when I sail on the Wonder.
