We just returned from ten great days at WDW-POP Century. Allreday planning next trip.......

Welcome back! We are seriously considering a trip the second week of August next year...it would be our first trip in the summer. How bad were the crowds/lines? What about the heat? We like to go in early December when the crowds are low and so are the temps, but that is no longer an option now that my DD is in high school and I am doing my student teaching.

Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I too would like too know how the crowds are, thinking about going next year this time, the weather well I lved down south for 4 years and I know it will be hot, just wondering on the crowds.

We were there August 8-13 and had a great trip. We were able to go on all the big rides twice by using Fast Pass effectively. Lines did get long but we never waited more than 20 minutes because we did early entry and used fast passes.

Sunday - arrived at 1:00 and went to Epcot. Got fast pass for test track (return time 7-9pm) and did Mission Space stand-by (20 minutes - our longest wait all week) and everything else in Futrure World.
Monday - went to early entry at Animal Kingdom and did EVERYTHING and were done by 3:30 (used fast passes for Dinosaur and Kali). Took a break and swam and went to MGM for Fantasmic (did stand-by on Star Tours - 15 minute wait around 7:00pm).
Tuesday - early entry MGM. We grabbed a fast pass for TOT and rode RNRC twice and went back to TOT. We did the movie ride, saw BATB and played Milionaire. Somewhere in there we had grabbed another fastpass for TOT and rode again before noon. Took a break and swam and headed to MK around 5pm. We got fast pass for Thunder Mountain (return time 6-ish). Did Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Philharmagic, Thunder Mountain, Tiki Birds, Treehouse, Jungle Cruise, Splash (15 minute wait just before Spectro), Thunder Mountain twice and saw Wishes. We could have done some of the stuff in Fantasyland - lines weren't bad -but my teen-age nieces had no interest (and I've been so many times I didn't care since this trip was for them and I'll be back in October and January!).
Wendnesday - Blizzard Beach and played mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens.
Thursday - early morning at MK for Buzz and Space Mountain (twice) and rode Splash Mountain again. We did notice that the lines in Fantasyland were long by 9:30. Finished up with World Showcase at Epcot.

It was hot but not as bad as I thought it would be. I live in Maine and it wasn't bad. We made sure we carried water bottles with us and took a swimming break in the afternoon.

We were at WDW for 10 days also!:) It was a challenge planning for 8 family members, but we did and all seemed to have a wonderful time in spite of the heat and rain. Other than the night we went to see "Wishes" the 10th I found the crowds to be bearable. Mom being in a wheelchair had an excellent view of Spectramagic and enjoyed it. Wishes was great, but it just seemed there were so many people there that night.
Remember I am from Montana!;)
This was the first time we were able to take advantage of the Extra Hour at MK. It was really nice. It was like having the park all to oneself. We did it twice, on the 6th and the 9th.
Everyone seems to have their favorite, even my older brother who said before going that,"He was not a Mickey Mouse fan" enjoyed his stay. Not sure when the next trip to WDW will be but was hoping for sometime in the fall of 2006.

You left just in time to miss Charlie. Tell us what you saw the Disney did to prepare other than closing the parks early.

We were down 8/9-8/12. We usually go during spring break, which for us is the last week of March. The crowds we experienced last week were about what we deal with during spring break. Wait times were posted for the big rides (MS, ToT, RNR,)as 45-60 minutes, but when we timed them, usually the wait time was about 20-25 mins. We did enight on the 11th, so we just held off riding those rides until the evening, and walked right on.
