Thanks to everyone for such great tips about room locations. We just returned from a week at the WL and had a great time. When we arrived, check-in was fast and efficient. We had a second floor room overlooking the service area. While it was good for fireworks we didn't want the noise of trucks loading and unloading. So we asked to be in a "quiet" area. CM's searched and found room 5001. It was wonderful. We faced the lake, so we saw the water parade at night and if we looked to the left saw the fireworks. It definitely pays to ask nicely. Rooms were clean and mousekeeping left towel animals every day. Had dinner at Artists Point and enjoyed it. Tried Roaring Forks...food ok but it's is so loud. We only went one time. Our only complaint was the pool. Hotel was booked but they definitely need to add more chairs. If you wanted to use the main pool you had to arrive by 9:00 am to get a spot. We had a car so I can't judge transportation. We only used the boat two times for the MK. It's really nice that they added that direct route. We heard several guests saying there was a very long wait for buses. Hard to leave the 82 weather!

Glad to hear that your trip to the WL was a pleasant one, and that you and your family had a good time.

I am curious, did the room have a refrigerator already in the room or did you have to call to get one sent to your room. Just curious.

I will be at the Lodge from May 12 through May 21, 2005

Thanks Tron72

Is 5001 a Woods/Lodge view room?

We're going the week after Thanksgiving and have a Woods/Lodge view room. They don't have standard any more. Would like to have the kids (7 and 2 - their first trip to anything Disney) to be able to see fireworks and the water parades every night, if possible. So any rooms in that vicinity should work?

Thanks.

We were booked for a woods view and as far as I know it wasn't an upgrade. What we loved about 5001 was that fact that it was one of four rooms at the end of the hall facing the lake (boat dock was straight ahead. We did not hear other guests coming in at night or leaving in the morning. From our balcony we saw Wishes to our left and watched the geyser erupt from our right. Great room!

Thanks for the report! We will be there October 3-9 and was looking for a great room! I hope ours is as good as yours! princess: princess:

Welcome Back!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Wilderness Lodge, it's a wonderful resort and one of my favorites...

That was the room that we had last October, and I loved it! We did a lot of sitting on the balcony, the view was awesome. We had our then 5 year-old grandson with us, and the mousekeepers left us several towel animals, sometimes a different one every day. He couldn't wait to get back to the room each day to see what they had left. He slept with all of them! That was our first stay at WL, and I must say that it left us with a very positive experience!

katallo,

Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. We will be heading to WL in June. How was Artist Point? We would like to try it but are unsure if our two DD's (7 ans 12) would like it.

Thanks for the report! We are going on October 1st and I can't wait! Was the weather nice enough to leave your sliding glass door open in the evening... or were there too many bugs? What about during the day?

So glad your trip went well! Yay!

Honestly, when our kids were that age (they'll 12 & 15 now) we bought them a pizza, turned on the TV, said we're eating at AP, and we'll be back in a couple of hours. You're in the same building. If you're concerned just trot up to your room and check on them. We enjoyed AP as "our night out." We loved it.

Can 5 people stay in the rooms at WL? (not babies) :guilty:

There aren't very many single/individual on-property resort rooms that will accomodate 5, one type that will are the Port Orleans/Riverside/Alligator Bayou trundle-bed rooms. (Be aware, however, that the trundle is not adult or even large child size.) But have you looked at the Fort Wilderness Cabins? They take 6(maybe more?...with full/queen bed, two double/bunk beds, pull-down Murphy bed, sofa). If you are travelling with a teenager, you should consider getting two connecting rooms at a value - that way you'll have two rooms, four beds and (best of all!) *two* bathrooms :). Then there are always the Home Away From Home(DVC) resorts - you can get a ressie on anything from an efficiency to a (multiple-bedroom)'Grand Villa'. A lot of Disney enthusiasts rent points from a DVC members - if you're interested, take a look at the DISboards' DVC forums.

Oh! Just looked over at AllEarsNet.Com & found this page...
http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_gen.htm . Scroll down and take a look at "Resort Amenities and Facilities/Which hotels have rooms that will accommodate more than four people?" There is a list of rooms that 5 people(with none 3 or under) can stay in.

Hope that helps,
agnes!

Glad to hear you loved it! We did too!

Can't wait till Dec. we'll be back!

Thanks for the report. :earsboy:

We had our balcony door open and we didn;t notice bugs. In October, it could be a different story. I was surprised that sliders didn't have screens.

Thanks for sharing we feel like we're at home when some one shares their WL stories. Thanks you made me :goodvibes
