just returned from week at BWV.....

hi! just returned today from a week at the BWV. i am going to post info about the trip on respective boards (IE, park info on attraction board), so here is the info about the villas!
we had a 1 bedroom villa..absolutely amazing. # 5024, 5th floor in the corner, a dedicated 1 bedroom overlooking the pool and the canal. Super location. we could see TOT and some of fireworks from mgm to the right, and also could see the higher fireworks from illumination to our left. we were a couple doors from the stairs, long walk from the elevator but that wasn't an issue for us. can't say enough about the room-we cooked bfast every am, once had light dinner in there but mostly used kitchen to keep drinks cold!
maid service was fine, she came REALLY late a couple days (like 4pm!), but did do cute things with my son's beanies! check in was short and smooth, bell services very attentive. guest services was not so much-waited a LONG time to ask a couple questions. Our weather was beautiful-high 80's every day, no rain until friday night. it rained from 8-8:30 approx, but the fun thing was all the performers came into the lobby of the villas to do their shows!
we didn't stop to see the characters in the am's (my son is 12 so wasn't interested), but they were there, and so were lots of little kids!

edited to say: forgot to tell you..... we did fax a request 3 days ahead for top floor, non smoking dedicated 1 bdrm, and got all we requested. we arrived about 1 in the afternoon, and the room was ready! also used netgrocer to send groceries ahead (non perishables), and they were there when we checked in. also, my husband paid the $25 to use the health club, and says it was well worth it. the pool was awesome, used it every day, no problems getting a chair at any time. I think this location is fabulous if you like the nearby parks-5 min walk to epcot and a boat ride to mgm can't be beat!

Hi! Great report on the villas. That room sounds to be almost the exact location of a 1br we stayed in about 3 yrs ago! I never remember room numbers but your description of the view sounds identical! I have reservations next month at the BWI and I have been wondering if the refurbishment of the villas is about done, and if any of the screening/scaffolding is still visible from the lagoon side of the resort? If was pretty well covered when we las saw it in January; it didn't look terrible, but was not as attractive as when we stayed there before. Can you let me know? thanks...Lin

it really was an amazing view...
to answer your question, yes, there is still scaffolding and screening up in front of some of the rooms, and there were workers there during the day around the pool areas and some around the boardwalk itself, doing painting and other things.
It didn't bother us, the work was going on across the way from us (looking out from our balconies, it would be on the back side of luna behind the slide, and around the back of libations).

Thank you so much for your report on the BWV...I am thinking of staying in a studio as well and have no idea what location is nice. I do like the top floor too.

I have a question about netgrocer. Can you tell me how your experience has been with them? How did you have them deliver your groceries to the resort? Did you have to be checked into your room first for delivery? Thanks for any info you can give, it's much appreciated.

netgrocer was great! use their chart to determine when to order..we ordered non perishables 5 days prior, they arrived the friday before we did. we checked in sunday at 1:00, there was a message waiting for us that we had a package, and after we got to our room, to call package services. we did, and 10 minutes later, there they were!
i highly recommend it!

Hi Somemagic4me. We were also at BWV last week in a one-bedroom right below you-4024. So you were the ones! (just kidding). We had a great time & loved the warm weather at night. The scaffolding wasn't an issue for us, we were so happy to get a one-bedroom. It was a walk to the elevators, but it's really not that bad. We generally went down the stairs & used the elevator to go back to the room. We walked to both Epcot & the Studios. One thing we almost always do is use the Swan bus stop when staying at BWV or the Dolphin, since they are the first pickup on the route. We like the short walk over the bridge to get us started in the morning, and have never seen a full bus pass us by using this strategy. Glad you had a good trip, too!

Could you tell me how to contact netgrocer ?? Never heard of it but it sounds great. We have stayed at BWV at least three times and it would come in handy.

it WAS a hike, wasn't it?! we used the stairs on the way down, the elevator back at night! we were so lucky with that weather. we got off at S&D dock on the way back from MGM, didn't think to do it on the way to! I will have to do the same with their busses next time as well.
it was a great first trip, and we SO loved the villa. and, are so spoiled now as a result!
