We just returned from WDW after staying eight days at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. We had a great time, enjoyed the resort as well as the meals we had at several table service locations on property. First let me say that we are new to the boards as far as posting but have been reading them for several months now. We are not however new to WDW as it is our favorite vacation spot . We have visited WDW at least 25 times:goodvibes . We have two children DS 17 :cool2: and DD 12:hippie: who also enjoy WDW as well. If you have any questions about out trip, POR or anything else just let us know. Thanks:thumbsup2

Glad you had a good trip. Would love some more details.

Thanks for joining.

Did you stay in the Mansion at POR or the back Bayou? Did you feel the rooms were clean?

My DH and I are going to be staying at POR for the first time - normally have stayed at value and myself once at a deluxe...

I'm nervous about the change but also excited. Did POR live up to your expectations? What part of the resort did you stay in?

anything we should avoid at the resort or anything that is a must do...

Thanks for your help

Hi, we stayed in the mansion section of the resort and really liked it. We stayed in Oak manor , located a short walk away from the pool and food court area. This is a very large resort so you need to request a section close to the pool and or food court area. In the Bayou section or the mansion section. There are about 4 bus stops in this resort that are spread out. Again we felt that the Oak manor was in a good location. The rooms were very clean and the grounds were kept very well. We enjoyed the walk to and from the pool and food area. We also rented bikes on one afternoon and had a great time riding around the resort and to PO French Quarter area:thumbsup2 . Another plus for this resort is the boat to Down Town Disney. You board the boat in right in front of the main lobby area and in runs about every 15 m. The food court area was also large and offered a lot of selections. As a whole we were very satisfied with POR and would stay again. The resort almost feels like a deluxe. Hope this helps.

Did the kids stick with you the whole trip or did they do some things on their own? I'm thinking esp. my oldest DS (same age as yours) may not want to hang with us parentals all of the time.......And what were their favs this time around?

Hi, Our DS of 17 and DD of 12 did do some things on their own away from us, Our DD was able to go to the POR arcade, shop and food court to fill up on hot chocolate with the refillable mugs:lovestruc . Our DS was able to do all of the above as well as he loved to boat to DTD where there are a lot of things for all ages including a good music store. He also added a day to his park ticket on our day to stay at the hotel and went to DHS to ride RR and TOT among other things. He really had a good time on his own:woohoo: . Hope this helps any other ? just ask
