and loved it. We had stayed at CBR last year and were lucky enough to get a building next to the food court. After walking around a little we decided not to book there again as we were afraid of not being close enough to food court, main pool etc.

After much research we decided on POFQ for our most recent trip and I can assure you we were not disappointed. The atmosphere around the resort is just so relaxing. We found the size of the resort to be fantastic. Nothing was too far away from any part of the resort.

Watching families take carriage rides past our room in the evenings was magical. Seeing the Downtown Disney boat head in and out of the boat dock was pleasant was well. We really enjoyed to quietness of the whole resort. As the weather warmed up going into the week the pool was kind of crowded, but the only real problem was the lack of floatation devices for the little ones. There were plently of lounge chairs to be found, both in the sun and in the shade.

Just a small note, the first two days we were there it was quite chilly and the don't run the boats to DTD or Riverside when its cold. I did see a shuttle bus to Riverside outside the front of the resort on Saturday. I quess that was for people going just to and from the two resorts for dinner at Boatwrights. This way you did not have to rely on a Park bus to get you to Riverside.

As for the some of the problems people have reported with Mousekeeping, we didn't have any. We were left "towel" animals etc every day. The room was neat and if they found anything the kids left on the floor it was placed on the bed and found there upon our return. We were even given extra pillows approximately 5 minutes after calling for them (DH has a bad back and needed them to sleep each night.) Our mousekeeper even straighten out all of our shampoos etc in the shower each day.

I recommend this resort wholeheartedly. We are even planning on staying again when we return next year.

Hope this helps anyone interested in the resort make up their mind.

Sounds like you had a great stay! The POFQ is my favorite resort! Thanks for posting!

Thank you for the wonderful trip report! My husband and I are staying there in Oct!! :cool1: I have not been to that resort since '99 so I am looking forward to the "new" POFQ!!

Thanks for the report! I am soooo excited to stay there in May. I even went bathing suit shopping already (while there was 4 inches of snow on the ground- I have to live in the future!). C'mon, Disney World!

:cheer2: Woo-hoo!!! Thanks for the wonderful report!! We're going to be there in May for our first-ever on-site stay and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I'm so glad you had a great trip! Hurry up, May!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the report! We're staying at POFQ in late April!

Thanks so much for the great POFQ report, drizzo67!! We leave on Thursday for our very first visit to WDW, and decided on POFQ after doing much research. Your report couldn't have come at a better time for me, thanks again. I even had my kids come in (ds9 and dd5) and read your report.

Thanks for the great post! we are pretty much decided to stay here our next trip!! glad to hear it's so nice. :goodvibes

I have stayed at CBR and never POFQ, but have read so many nice reviews that next time we may give them a try. Thanks for the info..... :cool1:

We stayed there 1-31 thru 2-4. It was very nice, and the food court was the best! But once you stay at a home away from home, that is very tough to beat.

Thanks for the report. We are staying there the last week in April. We are really looking forward to it.

We are staying there in Nov. It just looks so nice.
1) How was the food in the food court?
2) Did the beds seem small?

So glad you had a good trip! We're planning POFQ for June. Just wondering how many of you were there? Do you think the room would be big enough to hold 2 adults + 3 kids (one will be 15 months old, in a crib)? Also, was there a good all-round 'buzz' there? Trying to gather as much info as possible. Thanks.

Great report on POFQ! We'll be there in about a month and I can't wait to show my DH this resort. I think he will love its' compact design and ambiance even with the spring break crowds. Did you eat any beignets? I fell in love with them and had to have one every day on my last trip.

I'm hoping it will be warm enough to ride the boat to DTD since my DH loves boats. We haven't decided about Boatwright's yet but I'm definitely considering a PS there.

Okiemom - the food court is good. They had the usual burgers, chicken, pizza plus some other selections based on the resort theme - jumbalia, creole, etc. We had lunch there almost every day or a late night snack on the way back from the parks - open til 12. Breakfast was okay as well. As far as the beds we (DH and I) split our time sharing the beds with the kids (DS9 and DD6) even though we could have eaily shared one without too much crowding.

DebIreland - There were four of us in the room, Me, DH, DS and DD. There was room for a crib as well. The rooms have dressers so we put our clothes in the draws and left the luggage under the hanging racks in the vanity area - out of the way.

klmall - as far as bengiens (sp?) I topped you - 3 a night. What an addict I became. Even grabbed 6 for the plane ride home - of course they never made it out of the airport LOL.

I am planning a trip to take my DD and Neice and Nephew to WDW for 7 days. We are only planning on the parks for 4 days and having 3 days to relax and play at the pool. I think DD will love the waterslide. :rotfl:

It looks great on the website. We want a resort to unwind and relax after spending the day at the park. I have stayed at CBR and Swan and Dolphin, but want to try this one cause I have heard great things! Sounds very pretty and I am sure the kids would love a carriage ride around the resort. Oh yeah we did stay at the ASM for 2 night in 03. Too much stimulation!! Heck when you get back from the parks the last thing you want it is a GIANT BUZZ AND WOODY staring at you!! Scary!! LOL...I know most the kiddo's love that, but It just wasn't for me.

So It was very nice to read your great review...I can't wait!

Michelle - My kids loved the pool. The slide is really neat - King Neptune riding a sea serpent. My kids swam everyday when we returned from the parks in the afternoons. They even have lifejackets for those who don't swim to well. I found the whole resort relaxing. I woke each morning before the rest of the family and walked the grounds - beautiful.
