Just back from a great stay at POFQ. Man this resort is soooooo relaxing after a day at the parks. The parks were far more crowded than I have ever seen. Any questions?

Glad you had a good trip! We have a lot in common. I love POFQ and the DAWGS!!!

we're heading there in a few days (5 to be exact as of tonight). I've never stayed onsite before.. so this will be a unique experience.. Glad to hear that the resort is so relaxing.. we have a couple of "down" days planned. so that wil be pretty cool.

So the crowds were pretty high?? hoping maybe they will start to dwindle by the time we get there.. may be wishing a little too hard though.. LOL

it's okay though.. no matter the crowds.. a day at disney is still better than a good day at work!! :surfweb:

I agree fsmith and hope you have fun. I have been around the time you are going and have experienced a reduced crowd level at that time.

Hey Dawgsgirl, nice to hear from another dawg fan and POFQ lover.

We have always stayed at POR, but this Christmas we have 3 nights booked at FQ for a change.

we were there Tuesday checking it out because for our future trips our family of 5 has to move out of the values.
we loved it and we will stay here on our next trip, my ds was sold when he saw the arcade, my dd loved the pool and my little one liked the playground. My dh thought it was quiet and had a nice layout.
I loved it ;)

I can't wait!:yay: Going March 15th-21st and staying at FQ.:woohoo:
We love this resort. It is very relaxing and yet so festive. This is our
favorite resort.:mickeyjum :tigger: :donald: :ccat:

We love POR FQ (you can tell that from my sig!) It is relaxing and I love that bus to DTD! 46 days till we go back!

Welcome home, Walter! Glad you had a great time. What building were you in?

how are the buses to the parks?? we have early morning ressies for Breakfastasauras and Crystal palace (different days obviously).. Shouldl we think about driving or take t he bus. how early should we be at the bus stop?

Our resies are for 8:00 fopr both..

Also, any particular building I should try and request.. Although it may be too late to at this point.. we do have waterview room (whatever that will mean).

and for the record, you guys are making me feel really good about our choice of resorts.. Never been here but it looks really great..

Just 4 more days til we gete there!!!

on another note, I was curious if they put a hold on your CC when you check in? and do you have to have the charge option put on your KTTW? My DW thinks she saw somewhere that they put a $500 hold agaisnt your Credit Card at checkin...

Does anyone know if this is the case? can i have some details??

We were in building 1 this time. It was a fair hike from there to the main building and bus stop but nothing is really that far away at this resort when compared to others.

The buses were not always smooth. There are two bus stops, A and B. B goes to DTD, Animal Kingdom, BB, MGM, Typhoon Lagoon. Stop A has busses for MK and Epcot. I am sure it was just soenthing about this trip. Each time I have been to Disney I have experienced some level of what we all call that Disney Magic. Those times when everything seems to fall into place without you doing a single thing. It seemed, this time, that no matter where we went or decided to do there was a conspiracy afoot. If we went to MGM, the bus would not come for that park. There would be about a 100 for MK, 75 for Epcot and not one for MGM. On top of that, it seemed that whatever park we picked seemed to be one that everyone else at our resort would pick. The bus stop would stack up. Wait times for buses were not horrible and of course I am exagerating but this was different from our previous visit to this resort. I have been at the bis stop and usually seen a hand full of people at any given time waiting to go to a park. This time people stacked up it seemed. MK buses ran well from what we could tell but all other buses ran slower. MGM buses were really sporadic. I myself do not really mind a wait but this trip at times I had considered driving to the park for the first time just to save some time. Buses from the parks to the resort went very smooth. NOW all this was due, I am sure, to the absolutely mind boggling crowds at the parks. I have never seen the parks as crowded as they were this trip. It did not matter what park you went to but I prefer to think that whatever park we chose was the one that Disney sent the newsletter out on the night before advising everyone to follow us..HA. We did extra magic hours one night at MK. We were at MK from 10am until 1am the next morning, How is that for theme park commando? I'll bet TLinden16 can't beat that! How about it Karen?

We do not get the charge option put on our KTTW cards. It is not mandatory. If you do wish to have it, then I am not sure how much they put on hold. But, it is your choice to have it or not.

As a general rule, for Value resorts they do $500, mods $1000, and deluxe $1500, but they ask you if you want to attach a CC to the room key so they only do it if you want, and I understand they also will let you change that amount, but we've just had them do the default $1000. The only thing we used it for last time was to pay for the internet in the room two days because I had to work, probably next time too, it is too easy for me to lose track of what I spent if I use the room key! :goodvibes

thanks.. i'm thinking we problaby won't attach one on ours either.. keeps us from just going on a spending frenzy. LOL

wow. $1000 for the Mods.. whoa.. probably won't have them add it. Probably the only thing i would use it for would be internet as well. May have to check in with work email from time to time :surfweb: First thing in the morning while everyone is getting ready for the parks.. lol

What kind of air conditioning units are in the rooms?

How clean was the room and grounds?

Exactly my thoughts!

Hehe that's what I did. Logged in at night and checked my class boards (I teach online classes so I was able to work from Disney!) and then again in the morning...so I took care of checking my boards two days on one day's internet fee :goodvibes I did this twice in the 8 days we were there. I had also done them in the airport on the way down in KC while waiting for boarding, and then on the way back did them at Orlando. So I was able to keep up with no problem and not take away from park time...I got on Monday, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun, and Tuesday. I think a lot of students never even knew I was AWOL! :thumbsup2

You have a unit you can set the temp on. It's by the window like most hotels.

Our room was very clean and the grounds were beautiful! This was in Dec. and April. We are staying there again in September, October, and November.

I am staying there for the first time in December. I am excited! I did not know there were two different bus stops...are they near each other??

Yes, they are just feet apart. Each has a sign showing which stop you need for which destination. You can't miss it :) It's just outside the main building :)
