Just returned from BLT...

Just some random thoughts... The gym was great, according to dh. I packed gym clothes and never stepped foot in there! I prob logged in 50 miles that week so oh well . But, dh loved it. Lots of room, pretty empty . I really recommend if you have little ones to rent a mouse and go around Bay Lake . So nice. Bring a water bottle- it was 83* that day and I'm glad I grabbed one last second ! Extra towels- get right away if you have 3 or more in your party. Kick back on the beach with an adult beverage about halfway thru the trip, by yourself with a book . Great spot to recharge your batteries . TOTW was a beautiful spot. Take advantage of the best perk at BLT. We went up, all 8 of us and we were amazed . The kids couldn't believe it.... The bar is gorgeous ! Pretty lighting - woulda loved to have a few drinks alone with hubby one night . Next time!!!

Now , I'm booking SSR for march 1-5. As in 3 weeks!!!!!! Just me and my youngest as a surprise !!! Ssssshhhhhhhh! Secret. Just found last minute air and I'll borrow a few pts from 2012 , already have AP's, soooooo why not? DH is taking 12 year old to Tucson to watch college softball that next weekend, we were going to be home .She's only going to want to wear her princess gowns for how much longer?

Now, enjoy BLT all! I'm so mad we didn't buy there !!! it's a magical place ....

Sorry the first room was a mess but I am glad it all worked out. I think BLT is a beautiful resort. I don't get the whole sterile thing people talk about. I think it is great.

I couldn't agree more! you're less than 100 yards from MK in 1 direction, Bay Lake in the other, and have monorails zipping over your head everywhere.... what's more quintessential disney than that????

As for the trashed room, that sucks. I know I may get flamed for this but it is my opinion, I don't think non-DVC members should be allowed to stay at the DVC resorts. I get why it's done, but I don't like it. I really don't want my membership dues and maintenance fees to go to someone trashing the place. I'm not saying that there are members that don't trash the place but I think most take care of the resorts much like the OP did. I know when I am there, I think of it as my second home. OR if the non-members do stay at DVC resorts, they should have to pay for any damages themselves. Other hotels make guests pay for trashed rooms so why can't Disney?

Glad you had a great time. We will be there in Sept. Our first stay here. We have lake view. What should we request. I think I would rather face the pool than looking out the other way. Thanks for any tips.

Yankee, NO flames here. I agree 100%. I am sure that wasnt a DVC member. We would never EVER treat a villa in such a manner. there needs to be damage fees and cash paying guest need to be financially responsible for damage. CC is taken at check in and they sign on the dotted line. There has to be something about paying for damages....Anyone know an answer to that one?

I loved our LV villa view. Id request LV , odd numbered, higher floor room to be sure you see lake and pool together. very pretty at anytime of day.
