We enjoyed 7 wonderful nights at the Poly. Thanks to those who recommended Fiji as we absolutely loved it. The view of the marina, beach, and lake were beautiful. My son and daughter in law stayed in Tahiti and loved it but it was too far and the view of the top of trees was not what we wanted. We had stayed at Fiji over 30 years ago and it was nice to be in the same area we had been before. We even reenacted some of our old pictures. Our grandchildren were close to the pool and beach, Capt Cooks was just a short walk away and everything seemed an easy walk from where we were. We went on the Wishes boat cruise Sunday night and every night after that it stormed. It was very hot and steamy but we loved it. Everyone at the resort was so helpful and friendly and we can't imagine having to stay anywhere else. We had requested Fiji but were put in Tahiti (I think because our son and daughter in law checked in a couple of days earlier and the resort put us together) and when we decided we wanted Fiji instead we were allowed to stay in Tahiti until our rooms were ready. They let us keep our luggage in the rooms until after our dinner reservation at Boma and when we returned the bellhop moved us. We had connecting rooms third floor balcony just as I had requested. Everyone was so helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner at O'hanas. I wasn't pleased with Kona, the food was too spicy for me and it seemed very noisy even though we were seated at the back of the restaurant. Also I don't like the arrangement, we were so close to another couple that it was as if we had gone there together. They were very nice but I didn't like the seating design. All in all this was one of our favorite trips and we loved loved loved the Poly!

How wonderful! So glad you enjoyed your trip!

Will be returning to the Polyesian in December for the first time since 1986! We almost always stayed there in the early years, but as the children became adults and I traveled with friends, we opted for moderates or sometimes POP.

At last returning to my beloved Polyesian Village (too bad Disney changed the name)! Like you, I requested a longhouse (Tokelau, formerly Ohau) because we stayed there almost every visit from 1982 to 1986 - and only stayed in one other longhouse, which we did not like at all (now Aotearoa).

But have always considered requesting Figi because it looks like the even the garden views might have some water and so pretty.

Is much busier at that end of the resort? We enjoy being a bit away from the pool etc.

Welcome home! :flower2:

To OP, did you have the marina or cove side of Fiji? I have requested Fiji also for our trip in 11 days. I thought the cove side looked nice. I wondered the same thing, if that end of the resort was busy or noisy. My second request was for Tahiti! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip & I hope I do too!!!

Thank you for the review on the Poly...I will be there in 21 days and can't wait! Did you take the boat launches to MK at all?

We had a marina view and we could see the ferry boat crossing to the TTC and had a full view of the Contemporary and the monorail going in and out. We could also see the beach and boat dock of the Polynesian. It was a wonderful view. It was not noisy at all but very quiet even with so much going on around us. The other view is of the beach and Grand Floridian and there isn't a lot of activiity going on there except for the Luau dinner and you can hear the music from there. My husband spends a lot of time on the balcony so he was entertained with the rental boats coming and going and just watching the monorail and lake activity. It was so easy to enter the GCH and be right at Capt. Cook. I really liked the new order process and found it very easy after one explanation from a CM who was very helpful. Also just walking outside our longhouse we could see the fireworks over the castle. BEAUTIFUL!!

We did not take the boat launches but could see them coming and going regularly I am not a big fan of the water so it was the monorail for me all the time. My son and daughter in law loved the easy access to the TTC from Tahiti and the express monorail but we didn't mind going around the resort loop and found it moved fairly quickly.
