Well here it goes! 4 of us - myself, DH, DS and DGS
Our first restaurant ressies were for Ohana. We arrived before our ressie time however our daughter and family were with us - they had ressies at the same time but they had made them separate from us. We asked if we could be seated together. After a great effort by the staff we were all seated about 20 minutes later, total of 8. The atmosphere in Ohanas is beautiful, tropical island. The service was great, our appetizers were brought immediately along with the drinks we ordered. All were yummy. Next, the main course was brought along with the skewers of meat. The meat was somewhat dry but tasty. The bread pudding desert was also great. The kids paraded around the restaurant with flower leis singing. It was a very family oriented restaurant. After dinner, we walked down to the beach area at the Polynesian and watched the Seven Seas Lagoon Electric Pageant.
The next night we had ressies at Sci-Fi. This was one of our Favorites. The drive-in atmosphere is sensational and the clips of early sci-fi movies are amusing. The whole restaurant area makes you feel you are at a drive-in.
For starters, we had the yummy onion rings, the 7 bean chili and the spinach and artichoke dip. All were good, the chili and spinach dip were a little bland but a little salt perked them right up. I had the steak medium. It came perfectly cooked. Not the most tenderest steak I ever had but come on this is a fun restaurant not a steakhouse. My DGS had the steak, my DS had the barbecue chicken sandwich and my DH had the ribs. All were good. The milkshakes were available on the dining plan for desert - so we all indulged. Awesome, need I say more.
The third night, we had ressies at Biergarten. My DS and DGS were running about 45 minutes late but the staff said no problem to holding the ressie until they arrived. First of all my DH and myself are of German heritage. We enjoy German food. I cook sauerbraten, cabbage rolls , sauerkraut - all those German dishes. I was not impressed with the food at this restaurant. IMHO, the sauerbraten was too sour. It needed some sweetness by way of gingersnaps. The spaetzle was good as was the roasted pork, chicken soup, rotissiere chicken and other sides. The beer was lip smacking good. All in all nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was pure German as was the wait staff.
