Didn't think we were going to do it, but my sister decided she wants to do her 40th at Universal. Given that we were able to renew our preferred passes for $106.45 each, I figured that we will save $$$ on the tickets at least. Now, if we can stay away from Universal the rest of the year  .

Always a tuff decision. Renew now, or wait until next year and get the time difference.

The thing is, they really don't have a Burger King deal like before, where they had the 2 years for 1. So if you wait, you'll probably end up paying the $169 or whatever it is to start over.
That's a lot of money versus the renewal price.
There's no way to know if there will be a deal next year.

good luck staying away from the parks. i finally gave in and got an AP in july and just came back from yet another trip and planning a third on that AP next year. already know that i am going to renew next year though my current pass is good till july!

I renewed for the $99 in July. I went 4-5 days. I renewed my older daugher's & she hasn't gone yet. I am thinking I should have waited on hers. She isn't going to go now until Dec!!!! So I paid for 5 months of her not using... I guess it amounts to the same... $99 vs $179

I re-upped and it might be of interest to someone that it says that you have a month after your expiration date to renew but I gave them my daughters number which expired in July and they allowed me to renew it but it still expires next July. Now I have to pry the kids away from Sheikra at Busch Gardens to be able to return to my beloved Universal Studios. They are quite fond of the Hard Rock Hotel in Tampa as well. Must be a chocolate guitars they leave at turndown.

Yeah good luck staying away. I finally gave in and move here and even that wasn't enough so I had to get a job there too! :teeth:

momof3, we are seriously talking of doing just that early next summer. I'd love to hear some of the details of your move and would welcome any advice you'd like to share in a PM (don't want to hog the boards!) We've definitely gotten our money's worth with the 2 for 1 APs I bought us last summer and we live way up on the east coast.
