Just registered for DAS pre-arrival...

Video CM will pass you over to a chat session with a different CM. If for some reason you aren’t ready to make prebooked ressies, you can come back later to do that… don’t need to return to the video portion.
This was how it worked for me last year. However this most recent time was all over video with the same CM.

This time around I did it while on the video call with the CM who approved me. It was so much easier than being transferred to another CM and doing it over chat. The CM could see my park reservations, would name the day and park. I would say two rides and then they would list off times and I would select them.
I had the form send, I typed and typed and typed and then realize I was putting down rides for the wrong park. grrrrr......
Much easier with what you had.

Just did one last week and had the same issue. Even though I had a list of days, parks and rides I kept getting it wrong on the form. I wish they didn’t use the darn form… at least if I could write it all up ahead of time, I could just copy and paste!

This is exactly how it worked for me a week ago. I was pleasantly surprised by it and it was much easier to do it this way and quite quick too. I too find it hard to go to these rides like many here but sometimes we can. Last year I had one booked for HM and also got a day of for it and we asked if we could stay on two loops as my elderly wheelchair using father with poorly adapting vision to darkness needed more time to be able to see the ride. They let us stay on two rounds after loading (they said if too many other wheelchair riders came we would not be able to). It was great as he could see by the second lap. It was a kind modification for us and he is not the DAS user

Do you do this while on the video or does it switch to a chat session?
It varies depending on how busy it is and if there are people waiting.
We‘ve done the DAS video registration 6 times since it started. The same video person did it on video once - she commented that it was a ‘pretty slow day’ so she would be able to do them right away.
All the other times we were sent back to the text chat to a different text chat to do the DAS Advance Selections with that CM.
Were you able to book more than 7 days?
I don’t know if the poster you were asking answered, but our experience the last 3 times was that we were only able to book 7 days.
The last time, we were sent a form to fill out with slots for 4 days. After finishing the first 4 days, the CM sent another 4 day form. I filled out all 4 days because I though I might have misunderstood, but the CM informed me that he could not do over 7 days total.

The previous times we could only get 7, the CM sent two 3 day forms and then asked me to just type the info for the 7th day into the chat window.

This info is for Disneyland, not WDW but I logged in yesterday at 9:15am PST yesterday and the estimated wait was 3+ hours. A little over 2 hrs, 15 mins later I was on a video call with a wonderful CM names Andi. She was able to help me get the DAS all set up and even made all the prebooked return times without having to pass me on to a different CM. Not sure if it is the same at WDW, but not all attractions could be booked in advance, there were some that were not on her list such as Mickey&Minnie's Runaway Railroad and Radiator Springs Racers.

Mine is for WDW. I wonder if the pre books are handled differently for DL. I’ve always been passed to a different CM who worked on setting up selections. The only issue I have with this is that they supply a form which needs to be completed online while they wait… and it’s not free text but an actual form. It takes me forever since I’m always putting info in the wrong place!

That is true at WDW as well. Excluded from DAS Advanced Selections are any attractions using VQ or ILL$ , plus a few that were originally listed as ILL$ before WDW "temporarily" went to 1 ILL$ per park.

Registered for my son via the video chat earlier today for WDW and the process was very easy. Logged on a little before 11:00am central and was connected about 2 hours later. The CM could see that we'd had DAS for our trip last year as well and only asked if we needed it for the same reason or something different. I said it was the same and that was it, no additional questions, went straight to taking the photo. So I wonder if they can not only see that you've had it in the past, but maybe the reason given is documented as well? We were then transferred to a different CM to do the pre-bookings. It was limited to 7 days, but not all of our days were within the 30 day window and we were allowed to do them all. As I said, easy experience and both CMs were super nice.

My family member registered for DAS last week. Had an hour wait or so, she was approved but not allowed to book for the full 7 days. The CM allowed her to book two days of advanced selections, but said she then had to call each day afterward to book on the 30 day mark. It was a quite a pain to call and wait on hold each time but it all got done in the end. This seems to be CM dependent, she got a bit of a surly gentlemen who insisted this was the rule.

The DAS Advanced Selections are apparently limited options. They don’t schedule all day open to close. Many folks don’t end up using their Advanced Selections because the times simply don’t align well with their in-park plans. You can always get a regular DAS return time for those attractions and it may work better for your needs.
Totally agree. I have wasted numerous pre Advanced Selections as time timing never worked out. I was unable to make the reservations at the same time as approval and by the time I went back in, the times we needed were gone.
I did feel very bad 'wasting' those reservations and desperately wished they could have been modified. (they should be able to!)

I don't think they should be allowed to be modified - they are extra passes into the LL queue, and beyond what DAS is required to do, KWIM? They are at specific times to keep the LL queue from becoming super-crowded. Letting guests have 3 passes into the LL queue where they are allowed an unlimited time to come back (once the return time has come) would also lead to a lot more fraud, IMO.

It sounds like she registered before her full visit was within the 30-day window. If she had waited she could have done all 7 days at once. Or if she registered as she did, and then waited a few more days she could have done the additional 5 days together without calling in each day.

I can’t say I’ve ever wanted to modify, but there are times I know I won’t use one and I wish I could cancel. It goes away unused so not a big deal for me.

I do not think being able to cancel day off would matter as they have to be booked ahead of time by everyone. They do not offer this day of. I am sure overall a large number of them never get used and they factor that into their schedule to some extent

Don't know what KWIM is but to the best of my knowledge, it is 2 passes, not 3. And I think it would all balance out.
We used Fast Passes for many, many years and we all modified liked crazy. All worked out just fine until Disney wanted $$$.

Will continue to think modifying DAS choices would work out as they aren't even the Big rides. I do not like not using the preregistered (though it was necessary) as it felt like a waste of a privilege.

I think KWIM is know what I mean
