Just Read Marley & Me

I really wanted to see this movie until I read the book today. What a tear jerker. I have a Golden not a Lab, and he's 10, soon to be 11 and holy crap! I cried half the way home tonight.

I thought the book and the movie would just be about all the funny things Marley did. I had no idea they'd make me cry! Darn! They should give a warning to people! I don't think I could even watch this movie now without morphing into a complete mess in the movie theatre. It didn't help when my Golden wouldn't get in the car again tonight. He's starting to really show his age lately and it's definitely making me worry about how much longer I really have. Darn book! I won't be going to see this movie now!

The book had the same effect on me. My dogs were grateful I read it. I slept on the couch with them that night!

DH and I went to see it tonight. Lots of sniffling at the end (including us).

I was a basketcase when I finished that book (Sometime around 2am one night!) and I got out of bed and sobbed into the fur of all 3 (very confused and sleepy) dogs. Never has a book affected me so much.

We saw the movie today - and immediately after coming home,
I hugged and kissed on our 3 1/2 year old yellow lab ... and she didn't mind!

Lots of tissues were passed around toward the end of the movie.
We're looking forward to the DVD for the bloopers and outtakes.
The movie must have been a lot of fun to make.

After blubbering my way through the book, I've come to the conclusion that it's best that I wait for the DVD to be released.

I'm still on the verge of tears today just thinking about. That ending hit way too close to home. I don't even want to leave the house without Elvis.
