Just Purchased BCV

Meh. I’d say this is true only for certain seasons. I book a studio every summer at 7-months and never have an issue. Definitely agree during peak seasons like holidays and spring break. Of course, one bedrooms are easier though most won’t want to spend the additional points.
I looked at www.dvchelp.com, and BCV studios are the 2nd toughest reservation to get on WDW property. The only room type that is harder to get is Jambo House value studios. You might be able to get a BCV studio reservation if you make it exactly at 7 months (especially if you are going in July), because anytime after 7 months is virtually impossible. And availability for Oct-Dec is really hard to get even at 9 months, so someone would really need to own there if they wanted to visit during the holiday season. I can personally attest to this because last year we decided around 5.5 months out that we wanted to take a 4 day trip (we had the points) in July. BCV had zero studios available. We stalked for almost two months and nothing came open. We were going to be shoehorning that trip in anyway, so we decided not to go and save the $$.

To your point, 1 and 2 bedrooms are slightly easier to book than the studios at BCV but that is the case at every single DVC resort...1 and 2 bedrooms always have better availability compared to studios at each resort. But just taking a cursory look at those 1 and 2 bedroom room types across all resorts, BCV has less availability at 7 months or less compared to every other DVC resort except for one (again, Jambo House). And even the BCV 1 and 2 bedrooms become pretty hard to get after 7 months for any time of year, and at the 8-9 month mark they are still going to be really hard to get for the holidays.

If someone loves BCV and wants to stay there consistently they really need to own there.

EDITED: I substituted the web address of the website that tracks these things to make sure I didn't violate any DIS rules.

FYI, both the Jambo House Value and Club Studios are much harder to book than BCV Studios. These Jambo House rooms are difficult to get throughout the year at 11 months.

In addition, BWV Standard View Studios are very difficult to get, almost certainly more difficult than BCV Studios.

It’s about numbers. Compared to the total number of points at a DVC resort, there are relatively few AKV Value/Club and BWV Standard View Studios, meaning there is a larger pool of DVC members at AKV and BWV competing for these relatively scarce rooms.

Since BCV only has one category of Studio, it’s a bit easier for BCV members to book one of those.

Yes, the Jambo House studios are harder to get...and I said that in my comment. BCV studios are 2nd only to Jambo House within all WDW DVC rooms types in terms of availability.

And BWV standard view studios are actually not more difficult to get than BCV studios. Strictly speaking from the perspective of room availability, BCV studios are more difficult to reserve. It's very close between those two, but BCV is slightly more difficult than BWV standard view. BWV standard view studios are still a tough one to book, though...probably coming in 3rd right behind BCV. This is according to www.dvchelp.com.
