I found a link to this on another thread. OK, so new thread time... What does the last sentence of this article mean? (I know what it means... I just want more info!!! So I'm nosy!)

Still no idea what they are doing. They probably wouldn't put new stairs in if they didn't have a plan for the building itself though...

Umm, tis nothing major. This is where Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration is going... If stairs are being constructed, then it is probably something for the CMs to use for the show, nothing more...In other words: don't get the hopes up for anything major in this area.. Not yet anyway

Hm...I expected the Stitch thing to go in to the Galaxy Palace Theater, but it appears you may be right - the construction is more extensive than I was aware of...there are some pictures here at wdwmagic. It looks like they are now constructing a stage area alongside the skyway building. The pictures appear to have been taken from the skyway building itself.

As for the rest of it... I must say I'm very disappointed. The first thing that went through my mind was "Not another Stitch attraction..."
He's just not my favorite character, and I still harbor a little resentment for the extinction of Alien Escape. It was one of my all time favorites.

I know others will feel differently. Its just that there are so many OTHER Disney characters that aren't in the parks. Why does it have to be STITCH yet again!?!

It must be a seasonal thing. In all my trips I've only seen it used on one occasion. All the other times it's just been an empty arena.

The theater sits on a prime footprint that has been marked as expansion... So, I assume a huge e-ticket ride will go in the entire footprint...

I posted this a while back. Disney is supposedly going to close that area off to provide additional CM parking. If you Google earth this area, you will see that a parking area butts up againest the theatre.
