I just so excited I ordered the old version of pal mickey this afternoon from the Disney character warehouse in Sawgrass mills. My 4 yr old dd cant tell the diff and she said it would down load with the latest info even thought it was the older one, the new jokes and games just wouldnt be on there like the new 50th celebration one. For a $30 difference I could care less! :earsgirl:

Is there a website or phone # for the store. Thanks

How much was shipping?

Mine came from Sawgrass Mills last week. The shipping was 10.95. Everything came in tip top condition, although I haven't tried it out yet--My kids are always around, and I'm saving it for a surprise! Good deal for about $39-the new ones are $65 plus tax!

Thank you for the info everyone. I'm going to call right now & order one.

Thank you :bounce: :bounce: I just called and ordered one. They only had 2 left:earseek: so I am so glad i called when i did. If someone else needs one you'd better hurry and order it.

YEP... you must have been on the horn right after me, when I called there were only 3 left! I said "I'll take it"!! Hope it's worth the money as I've been up in the air about them all along, seems like they might be a little hokey, but at least we're saving money right?!? I hope to set ours out on the bed for arrival to our room for a surprise... IF I CAN HOLD OUT THAT LONG... we'll see.

I just ordered one. The CM said they had lots and lots that just came in today!

What is the difference between the new one and this one? Can you only purchase the anniversary ones now for $65+ at the parks?

I'm still on the fence about getting one for our trip in two weeks for DD2.5. Is it worth it?

Hi I purchased 3 for Christmas from those Fl outlet stores too. There were post on here then that sometimes they don't work right and that you only had to change the batteries and then they worked fine. I used mine in Feb down there and it worked fine with the batteries that were in it. You have to hold it up as you enter the park so the park info loads(the sensor or chip is in his nose I think they said). If you have any trouble go to any store in Disney that sell them and they will activate him for you. I would also save your receipt just in case you have any trouble. I think the new ones have changeable outfits and might play some games. Be sure to read the instructions you have to wait some amount of time before you press his hand again or he will repeat the same message. I hope I gave you some useful info. :earsgirl: :goodvibes

I read that they are the same. just that the new one will play some different games then the original and will say a few different jokes.

I'm thinking of getting this for our trip next March, does anyone know if he'll last in storage that long???? Also, any thoughts as to whether or not this would be good for DD 11 and DS 8? When we went last year DD really wanted one, but we waited. Thinking of surprising her for our trip next year...

I don't know if the batteries will last til next March but they are replaceable, I think they were 3AA so just replace them. Some people that bought last Christmas had trouble with their original batteries that came in the box so they just replaced them. Also you can use it before then, it will still talk to you and maybe play games too I can't remember mine is stored in my suitcase(I'm 61). Also you can ask them to add any other items you might want from there since the shipping is a flat fee up to $100. I ordered cheap discounted pins to trade at Disney. Hope this helps :earsgirl:

I would just take the batteries out then you don't have to worry about bad batteries in the pal. Like the previous poster said you can use it ahead of time.

I didn't think ours was working right since it didn't want to play the games and kept telling about attractions lines etc, I checked the back and the button was turned to off so i turned it in the on position and then it worked fine. Must of been the demo stuff that they program into it. Now when it is off it does not say the stuff it did in the begining. It will play games and tell silly jokes right now and then when you get to the parks it will download the info.

We got pal mickey for oldest GS when he was 10 yrs, He is 12 now and still looks forward to taking pal back with us this year.

We just bought the 2nd pal mickey for GS 8 yrs since he is going with us this year for the first time.

We picked one at Sawgrass Mills last week - they still had several left on display. I haven't had a chance to play with him yet but he looks fun!

Will the old ones pick up on the new attractions and shows? I was one of the suckers that paid $60 for it last year :rolleyes1

The CM at the outlet store in Sawgrass said the only difference is that the newer one wears a tuxedo and has a different hook to latch on your belt. She bought one and took it to the parks a few weeks ago. It is supposed to get updated with the new info and work exactly the same... we'll see.
