Just on the off chance........ (recipe help)

My step mom used to make this desert called Floating Island...... basiclly it was a meragine type thing (not hard, more like a sweet soft whip) that 'floated' in a custard cream sauce. I found the custard sauce recipe (that she also used for her Grapefruit snow pudding recipe, which thankfully I have) but no luck on the whipped soft sweet meragne 'island' part.

BTW She was orignailly and East Coaster..... so I am wondering if it has its origins from that part of the country.

ANyway I know it is a long shot..... but I thought what the heck!

If you go to www.foodtv.com and type Floating Islands in their search engine, you will get 3 different hits. Not sure if these are what you are looking for, but it should be a good jumping off point.
