This is not a trip report but a short list of post dry dock observations.

Loved the new decor in Cove Cafe and Signals. Books and magazines were no longer in Cove Cafe but the desserts were available and just as yummy. (Also, the stores did not have any magazines for purchase this cruise. There were books but no magazines.)

On demand on the cabin TV was up and running. So very nice to have the option of viewing your account!

Duck Dine-In was not ready. They were serving hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders at the Pizzeria. I missed the condiments as all that was available were packets of mustard, ketchup, etc. I always would load up on lettuce and pickles to have along with the always addicting chicken tenders. I know it sounds weird but it was my weird thing, lol.

We checked out the Vibe but other than some updated decor not much had changed. Then again, there is no room to expand, etc., so not a surprise.

There were still plenty of workers on board but not in your face. We only really noticed them in Cabanas when they were having meals.

I believe the safes were new to the Magic? I can't remember if they were different from our last cruise on the Magic.

Rapunzel's Royal Table - loved loved loved it. The decor is amazing and the entertainment was a lot of fun. I have a soft spot for the Thugs and they along with Rapunzel and Flynn made their way to each table through the course of dinner. We only ate there one night so I have no idea if there is anything special going on if your dining rotation includes a 2nd night at Rapunzel's. We liked the menu and you have to try the dessert served in a skillet. I can't remember the name.

We had 2 issues in the cabin. The a/c was not working but our host (Phillip) had already reported the issue by the time we got to our cabin and it was fixed asap. Once the safe would not unlock and I called Guest Services and it was fixed promptly.

I will try to post some pics later. Back to work today and I was too exhausted last night to do much of anything.

thanks for the report..
the video someone posted of what goes on in rapunzels royal table looked really nice and fun!!
.

Did you feel the Rapunzel show was just right? Too loud/chaotic? How was the parade? I was watching the video and was of a mixed opinion. I like being able to converse with my family at dinner, but love the shared experiences too. For example, I like the animation in AP with our drawings, but I sometimes find the animations that talk to your table to be distracting. But then again, the character interactions look fun! Did they pose for pictures, or keep moving at a pretty good clip? Thanks for the report!

Is Pete's Boiler Bites still there? It was unclear whether that was being replaced with Duck Dine-In.

The real question is whether there's still shawarma.

Please do let us know about the shawarma! I really look forward to trying it in January 2019.

I was going to say, I am pretty sure the cabins have always had safes.

If it is the same upgrade as Disney Wonder, the safes went from a horizontal swinging door to a pull-out drawer. This is much better as the door no longer swing in the way of the sliding closet door when the safe is not locked. Plus, it is much easier to look into the drawer and find stuff, than to bend down to look into the safe or feel around blindly for things.

Got it. The OP made it sound like there had not been safes on previously.

Agreed! My daughters very first pair of earrings $200 of Kabana pink with 14k rose gold (other than starter studs) my husband insisted they stay in the safe. But yet when he felt around he did not find them and thought they were already packed. We contacted the cruise, but no earrings were ever recovered.

I would think that they keep the schwarma. It is mentioned in the Marvel show at night.
Pete's was closed on the cruise prior to dry-dock as well. I am surprised it wasn't finished since it looked gutted from the small opening I could see. interesting that it still was not open as the Duck Dine-In

The safe was a pull out drawer prior to the dry dock.

I was looking forward to the Swarwarma on my cruise last October. Maybe it was the time of day or that it was chilly and windy, but it was not good, cold and fatty.

Maybe I will try it again this October, but I will make sure it is hot and not too fatty.

I have had lamb and chicken swarmama many times, so I do have something to compare with. :)

Excited about the changes.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the updated Magic. I'm looking forward to seeing pics. :goodvibes

There were times when it was loud and you could not really converse while it was going on. But it was short in short segments. The characters did pose for pics but you had to let them know from the beginning or they would move on.

When I reread my post it did sound a bit unclear. I was unsure if the safes had been changed and from the posts it seems they were. The slide out drawer is much nicer and easier to navigate.

Pete's Boiler Bites is being renamed Duck Dine In but there was no info as to the menu. They were working on it hot and heavy so there seemed to be the possibility it would be open soon. They were only serving (along with pizza) hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders at the Pizzeria. Also, no fries only bags of chips.

The parade was fun and pretty cool with the lanterns. The dining room itself is gorgeous. But, it is definitely not a quiet, intimate dining experience. Thugs. Need I say more, lol. I have quite a fondness of the Thugs.

I had the same experience on my cruise year before last. Cold, flavorless and was served on a tortilla. My daughter and I were like, "What the heck??" I'll give it one more chance. Love me some shawarma.
