Just off the magic!

We also came off the Magic 2 weeks ago with a group of friends. We thought the Magic was lovely but definitely it does look older than the Dream. We also thought our rooms just looked worn, scuff marks in room, rust stains in bathroom, shower tile even came off, etc. We loved the Aquadunk. We had pretzels filled with cream at Cabanas I believe on Sea day. We too loved all the shows in Magic and agree they were better than the shows on Dream.

Of course the Magic is going to look older...she IS a lot older!!! Even after the refurb she does look older in some areas. The Magic is my favorite followed closely by the Fantasy. We were on the Magic's Maiden Voyage in 1998 so have been with her since the very beginning. We were last on her in May on the TA and she was still in great shape but there were areas that were definitely showing her age. I agree with the Goofy pool showing her age. Still love her and thinks she has a some years left in her. She will need a complete redo of the bathrooms soon in my opinion.

In the bathroom outside the theatre, part of the ceiling collapsed on my husband while in there and cut open his leg. It was so random and bizarre!
They offered us Palo dinner ( we declined bc we didn't want to eat without kids and miss pirate night and animators palate) but we took them up on the rainforest pass. Glad I didn't pay for that- disappointing!

Oh, I am disappointed to read about the condition of the Magic! We sailed her in 2012 and there was mildew, rust, and cracked tiles in our bathroom. The room itself was worn and the bed covering was threadbare. I thought surely after she was "re-imagined" things would be better. I really don't like the Magic much - pales in comparison to the Fantasy - but we couldn't resist the NY-PR itinerary in November.

Can you tell me the size/weight requirements for Aquadunk? Thanks!

Obsessed with the Fantasy, was hoping the Magic would WOW me. I know we will have a great time no matter what. Excited to see new shows :)

I think if you lower expectations, it should be fine. I think my problem was I had high(er) expectations for the magic knowing that it had been recently refurbed, I had imagined it would be in BETTER condition than the Dream.

While Magic and Wonder are definitely older and this is not the first review I've read saying they are showing age, I feel like Disney is being smart by putting the new shows on these ships. I don't have a big desire to see these ships for themselves necessarily (in large part because of comments like this,) but I'm tempted by the shows.

We are looking forward to the tangled show for sure. We dont even go to the Dream shows any more as we have seen them all a few times.

Taking first DCL cruise on March 3 with 17 yr old daughter for her grad present. So excited for the shows! Besides Tangled, what are the other 2 shows? Plus anything, not to be missed for first timers?

Twice Charmed & Disney's Wishes were the other two shows.

Looking forward to seeing all of the shows. This will be our second Disney cruise, and our first on the Magic. What characters were on board? Were there tickets for Elsa and Anna meet and greet?

We are on that same cruise with you....................hoping for good weather at CC!

Tickets for Anna/Elsa/Olaf and as well for the Princess meet - which was only Cinderella & Belle.

Mostly, it was the usual characters...Fab 5 plus Chip & Dale were out regularly (pretty much multiple times per day), Daisy less frequently, same for Stitch. Hook & Smee were out on pirate night (as well as Jack Sparrow). Rapunzel one night only.

we also just got off the Magic and DH and I both agree that it pales in comparison to the Dream. We both agree we would not do the Magic again.

Aww sorry to hear you did not like it. You know I must admit seeing things in disrepair is off putting. The rainforest room was a complete mess and was quite emberassing I thought. Yet overall we personally find something charming about the magic. It does not have that flash and wow factor that the Dream has however it has something else. Not sure what it is, but it is much preferred for us. It is like its quarks are kind of what make her special? There are loads of flashy beautiful ships out there but when you want something a bit charming I think this is a fantastic choice. Although I must admit the price should reflect that! Charging Fantasy prices is not ok!

WOW! That's crazy. Hope the cut wasn't to bad and did not any issues for the rest of the trip.
