Hi All I'm looking to lose 15 lbs. :woohoo: I'm set ready to go. I walk for 30 mins during my Lunch hour and tryo to get in 30 mins at home. I know I can do this.

Then there are the days when I want to quit or just not do my 30 mins. So I"m just looking for some support to push through it all.

Good luck to all of you too. :goodvibes

I'll support ya. I am right there with you too, in that I want to lose a little weight too. (15-20 pounds) I am chicken to join the other threads here. :rotfl2: They look to hard for me to keep up with. :lmao:

I started out great last week until we went out of town and I am just now getting started back. My goal is to exercise more and watch what I eat. :thumbsup2

How long have you been trying to lose this weight?

Good Luck to you both!! I have found you just have to take it day by day.... eat right and keep moving, and make sure the exercise you are doing is FUN, or you'll just wanna quit!! Have you seen those dance video games?? SOOO fun!!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it'll fill you up, and ZERO calories:thumbsup2
also, keep a photo of your fav resort pool on the refrigerator... when you are tempted to snack, picture yourself lounging in the sun in your slinky new swimsuit!!

Here is what Nancy opened this volume with:
Welcome to Vol 9 of our little thread! For nearly 2 ½ years, this thread has been going strong! Many have come, a few have gone and some of us have stuck it out thru thick and thin.

Our gains have been greater than our losses. While many of us have lost some weight all of us have gained a lot. We’ve gained friendship. We’ve gained insights and we've gained confidence. We’ve expanded our horizons in ways we may have never thought possible. And we’ve gained BLING! Yes, seven of us trained and completed the Princess ½ marathon together in March.

You’ll find we have different goals, different methods for achieving better health. Perhaps we may all wish there was a simple “quick fix”, however we know that is not a reality. We fight the daily battles with food and exercise. Some days we win, other days we struggle. But we support one another, we share and we care as we all work to achieve balance in our lives.

It’s true that this is a weight loss thread, and we hope you’ll choose to join us because you’ll find that we are about so much more.

Hi Leila!! I am glad to know that I am not the only one who is scared to join. This is all new to me so once I feel more comfortable with it I may join.

How have you done this week? I have not exercised much at all, but I have watched what I have had for my meals and I have tried to limit my snacks. I am getting on the wii fit this afternoon after school. I am trying to get my 18 year old DD to join me with this. Hopefully she will.:goodvibes

Hi Well I would love to say that I exercised all week!! NOT :rotfl: So I had an ok week this far I have watched what I have eaten and had very few snacks even resisted cupcakes at work yesterday. :goodvibes

Hoping tonight to get in a few minutes of some aerobics. The wii fit sounds cool you will have to let me know how it works!

Good luck with the DD I have a DD to she is only 6 and skinny but she likes to work out at least sit with me when I'm doing aerobics so I'm happy she is supporting me too!

That's so funny. I was talking to my 12 yo DD last night and I have hired her as my personal trainer. She is a cheerleader and in perfect shape. She loves the wii fit, plus she knows some cool dances that are fun, but they will work you hard. There is one on youtube. I'll find it and post it. She learned it in gym and I tried it last night. It's easy to learn, your DD will like it, and it works your whole body. :thumbsup2

Good luck to all of you! I'm trying hard to maintain what I've lost.

I think you have done GREAT!! I am still having a hard time getting motivated, but I have promised myself that this next week will be better.

The dance sounds great I bet she would LOVE it. She is too cute to watch when she is dancing and doing arobics.

I could have done better this week but every littlebity helps so I will keep on trucking! Next week I start back to school at night I work full time and Have a wonder husband or I couldn't do it all. So we will see how I work it all in! :yay:

I have been cutting back and doing OK I guess. I have also been drinking more water, but it's the flavored carbonated kind and it has made me feel bloated. I looked online today, and it turns out that it "could be" fattening!:rotfl2: Wouldn't that be something! But I know something is up because my fingers and everything feel swollen. :confused3 Needless to say, I wont be buying anymore. :lmao: Back to the plain old bottled water for me. :upsidedow

Hi Leila - I'm a newbie too!

I came to this board because we're planning on going back to Disney in Jan. I set a goal to take part in Marathon weekend, and I'm here for support with that because DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do it.

I started running last summer/fall, when I hit 30. I have found that as I get older, the weight is harder to take off. (I never thought I'd say that, because when I was younger, I could take it off in a *snap*).

So, I've been running every day, but I'm cutting back to every other day and cross training in between. When I was on a workout kick a couple of years ago, I woke up 40 mins earlier than normal to fit my workout in. After the first week, I didn't really miss the few mins of extra sleep, and I found that it started my day off better. I was in a better mood, more energized throughout the day. Within a month, I had lost over 5 lbs, and I was getting toned. - this is something I am trying to start again. Right now, I'm working out in the evenings when I get home from work. I'm finding a lot of evenings when I can't find the time because of schedules, meetings, etc. So, I think I'm going ot have to start back up with the mornings.

One thing I found is the couch to 5k. It's a really fun program. I luckily have a treadmill, so I'm able to do it indoors during the colder months. I really like the format that I found on runningintoshape.com. I like her playlists (sometimes, at the end of a run, her choice of song is just the push of encouragement I need to finish strong!) and her kind, reassuring voice when she coaxes you to "do your last run!" She's so dang cheerful! Best part - the downloads are all free!

I hope you try to stick with it. I'm right there with ya! I'm trying to drop from an 8/10 back down to a 4/6. Let's do it together! :goodvibes

I am turning 30 this year too! I have also noticed it is harder to lose weight now that I am older. Thanks for the recommendations for C25k and runningintoshape.com. I am checking them out right now! The Disney marathon is such a great goal. It's fun and fitness wrapped into one.

Ya'll are smart to do this now! I am turning 42 in Feb and it is true that the older you get, the harder it is to take off. It has been for me anyway. I think because I am set in my ways and need to break old habits.:rotfl2:

Today was my third day doing the Biggest Loser Challenge for the wii and I am loving it so far. When I woke up this morning my legs hurt from working out for the past two days, which is always a good thing. :thumbsup2 I just finished a 30 minute workout and it feels so good. :goodvibes

I am also adding more protein into my diet and I am trying to lay off of the carbs, which has been a struggle for me. :sad2:

I wish you all good luck!! :wizard:
