We were originally going to go in July, but being in Orlando 3 years ago for SeaWorld parks, we really wanted to avoid the excessive heat and humidity, especially with the younger kids.

We= me, DW, DD 13, DS 9, DS 6, DD 3, DS 1

We are going March 14-22 , hoping to avoid (most)
of the spring break crowds. How are things at Disney mid-March?

We are staying off property

We are going at the beginning of March. Have never been at that time of the year but am hoping for mild weather and moderate crowds. We made our plans around the crowd predictions on EasyWDW. I think the middle/late March may be a little busier but still good compared to spring break or the summer.

We used to go in the summer but about 5 years ago it was so unbearable I said never again. We will likely end up going in the summer at some point but I do much prefer the late fall or early spring.

I've been to WDW in January (last year & Honey Moon in '04) and being from Pittsburgh, we didn't mind the cold weather all that much but this year we booked March 1-6, spending February 28 at Downtown Disney.

In August 2012, we took our two kids and my mother-in-law to WDW and I swore two things would never happen again, summer at WDW & going with my MIL.

So we followed up 2013 with an April trip.

February 27th cannot come soon enough...

Made me laugh about your MIL...:rotfl2:

We'll be there the same time as you! We're going to be there March 16-21. Keep in mind that that is the week of most Canadian spring breaks so the parks will be more crowded than you may be used to. Also it can get very chilly at night time. The last time we went in March was 2013 and I remember one night on the bus back to POP the family in front of us was wearing hats and gloves and I remember thinking to myself why didn't I think of that :rotfl2: . So just keep in mind that you may need more warmer clothes than you think. I'm sure you'll have a great trip!

Ya, we don't mind hanging around with the Canadians..lol

Much better then trying to go during USA spring break!

Oh dear.. I don't know if we can handle you Kansas ppl... jk...:cool1: Anyone else we should know about?

We're a wild bunch! lol.

Honestly, after our trip there last January, I don't know if I even believe the crowd calendars. It was supposed to be low crowds, and we could barely move at Magic Kingdom. We've had 2 other trips in March, and they were both very pleasant in regard to weather and crowds! :) You'll have a great time regardless, because you're at Disney World!! :woohoo:

We still don't know what we're doing for our winter vacation, so who knows? We may see you there!! I'm a last-minute vacation planner!

It's spring break in OK as well. We will be there the 15-22. The count down is on!!

Find one of the "When Is Your Spring Break 2015" poll threads - one of them made its way back to the first page of this board a few days ago.

According to the (highly unscientific) poll, the 3rd full week of March is the 3rd most popular Spring Break week, with only the 2 weeks flanking Easter ahead of it.

I think a lot of us (myself included) don't realize how widely Spring Breaks vary across the US until we start reading the DIS. When I started looking at 4/18-24, I thought that would be safe, being so far after Easter, but it turns out that's the usual Spring Break week for Mass. & Maine.

I think someone is on some sort of School Break pretty much any time from Presidents Day to late April.

Oops - the Spring Break poll threads are on the "Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies" board.

That is spring break in Alabama too, so it may be spring break time for quite a few school districts around the south. We were there around that time a few years ago (maybe 2009?) and the weather was good. The crowds were fairly high with spring break though, not Christmas level but not quite moderate either. EasyWDW has that week rated as 7 and 8 / 10. Just so you are prepared!

Years when we get a spring break (only every other year for my kids' school district, the other years...like this year...we only get the Friday/Monday before/after Easter off) it is almost always 3rd week in March. We are almost Canadians up here in WI ;) whenever we travel that is where people seem to think we are from LOL

Most college spring breaks start around March 7th...it will be busy starting then thru mid April. Our local Florida schools are out starting March 21-31.
