So... My first time on this part of the DIS... I'm still happily married to a wonderful Disney-loving wife, but will be making a solo trip to Orlando for the Marathon weekend. Doing a marathon is a bucket list kinda' thing, and I've been training almost 3 months now. I think I'm ready for the run, but not so much ready to be at Disney Sat - Tues pretty much by myself.

So - how do you "cope" doing Disney alone? And for the record, I did emplore my wife to come. It would be VERY low cost for her to do so (we have frequent flyer flight, are AP holders, and doesn't cost any more for her to stay in the same hotel room as me!). She just won't fly without the kids. She's afraid we'll both crash and die and leave the kids without parents. :confused3 Don't get me started about that! ;)

Good luck at the Marathon! If you do it again next year (2013) let me know-DH is already started training for that, and we'd be happy to visit with you. But by then maybe you'll be an "ole' pro" about going solo. I frequently go solo without DH. He stays home and cat sits, works, and just basically doesn't have the Disney itch as often as me. What helps me is doing some things that I know DH hates-like riding Dumbo. That way I feel I'm doing him a bit of a favor going alone. Also, I often try places to eat that I think he might enjoy, sort of like "pre-scouting". Then he appreciates it when we both go back and I take him to this resturant I found.

I indulge myself on solo trips. I ride some of my favoriteattractions over and over, sit and people watch as long as I want, and do all the stuff I know DH doesn't enjoy as much. It's a whole different experience to go and only have to please yourself.:)

I am sure you will enjoy your trip because I do enjoy mine. At times, it feels good to roam around just being oneself.
