I'm getting really irritated at how long it's taking for these contracts to be entered. I sent my final down payment 6 weeks ago and the sellers took forever to sign their paperwork. I STILL can't use my points. How long is it really taking? I'm grumpy.

Yeah it's hard to be patient with resale for sure. Usually from when you send your offer until your points are in your account is about 3 months give or take. The last two contracts I did took 76 and 107 days from start finish.

Have they closed on it?

I agree it takes a long time, this is why I think I prefer resale contracts without current UY points. It takes some of the anticipation out when you know there's no current points to use anyway.

Most of our resale contracts took at least 3 months from offer to points. Had one that took less than 2 but I figure that was a lightening strike...a rare occurrence. The seller being slow to sign won't help. You were at a standstill until that happened. There's still a few things to happen after you close with the deed. It's a lot more than just entering the contract. Don't hesitate to contact your broker for an update once in a while. Meanwhile visit the buying DVC section for a support group of people in the same boat to help with the wait.

I know this feeling, so I don't mean to laugh...but for some reason the idea of a support group for DVC resales just struck me as funny.

I was picturing a motivational speaker addressing a resale buyers group...
"When you reach the end of the day, and your points haven't been loaded, just remember that you can face tomorrow with the same resolve you had today. Think upon these immortal words as you turn in to sleep for the night, hopeful that the points will be there soon. You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Do you know if your closed and when and if the deed was recorded? What sucks is on top of all of this they were closed for around 10 days and came back to a HUGE backlog to work. When I emailed Member Admin last week I was told it was taking 5-6 weeks for them to handle resale transfers.

Resale contracts go to the bottom of the pile each day. 😣
The direct contracts get processed that same day
Remember you saved money, this too will pass.

From what I was told they have different units who handle direct vs resale. The process is also different because the points are being sold from
DVD vs having to actually transfer cont between owners.

So they don’t put on hold resale. They just don’t devote the same number of people and the volume of resale is much larger.

It took 2 days shy of 4 weeks for the contract I sold to disappear.

It’s 22 days today for the one I bought.

Support Group is my term but when you see the people who started the process at the same time you did making progress, it helps. It can be a very stressful and frustrating process. It's great to have the encouragement and great to encourage others.

A support group sounds good - LOL!

But yes, the deed has been recorded on July 26th :(
200 Points in the 2021 June UY --- Sigh.

It does suck that it takes so long and the shutdown didn't help. You are right at the beginning of the 3rd week in the 3-4 week timeframe; so hopefully your contract will show up any day now.

I'm waiting on them to just add my husband to my existing contract. They received our deed on 7/21. Not sure why it's taking so long for them to do this.

I am close to walking away and losing my deposit. My sellers are past ten days with paperwork and no signature yet. I have said we close this week or we are done. Foolish I know - but with at least a month after close my heart can’t take it.

Your closing date has already passed?

One week past original date. No new date set due to Disney Rofr delay- just over a month to get. And COVID impact - at this point notary has been figured out. I get the broker is just trying to save the deal.

But knowing I have 4-6 weeks after closing to wait and get points killed all my plans. So my only option is to rent out points versus lose them. And I didn’t buy to rent. all these changes in the last two months are nuts.
