December 14 at Victoria & Albert's. I'm so excited after all the great reviews and pictures here.

I also tried to make reservations at JIKO for Monday, Dec 10 and they said there wasn't anything available for that day. WOW. I'm surprised. Suggestions? We'll be at Animal Kingdom that day.

Other dining plans:

Artiste Pointe
California Grill
Le Cellier
Victoria & Albert's

Thanks.

Me too! First time! I'm so excited! It's our 18th anniversary, so we're splurging! We happen to have some of the same ADRs too. I did manage to get Jiko, another first time restaurant for us, but it's early Sept., not Dec. Kind of surprising you couldn't get anything there. You should get another restaurant booked as a back up and keep trying, people change ressies all the time...*speaks from personal experience*;) We enjoy Flying Fish but actually cancelled it to try Jiko this time.

Flying Fish was very good! :thumbsup2

And I agree with the previous poster - keep trying for Jiko. Unless there is a special event taking place you might get lucky and get that ADR because someone else cancels. We've been known to do that... ;)

And congrats on V&A - it's wonderful!! :goodvibes

I've read all of your trip reports. They are funny, interesting and informative all at the same time. It's one of the reasons we decided to try Victoria & Albert's. You're pictures are wonderful.

Thanks, I'll find a backup and keep trying JIKO. Maybe I'll try Flying Fish.

It's our first time too. We'll be 31 years in October and we both turn 50 this year so we have a lot to celebrate.

That's 2 votes for Flying Fish. I think we'll try that and keep trying for JIKO. Thanks.

Go to Boma!
Not as upscale as Jiko but the food and atmosphere are great!

Flying Fish is good.. Narcoossee's also.
Odd about Jiko being booked this far out.
Trusting you'll enjoy V&A!!

MRussell- Congrats on your anniversary and birthdays!:cheer2:

oybolshoi- I'll have to check out your reviews now that MRussell mentioned them...:goodvibes

Uncleromulus- Not trying to take over the thread, but any hints, tips? Hubby and I love wine...in fact last year I went on my first tour of wine country in Napa and Sonoma Valleys, and had a tasting with food pairings that enlightened, as well as blew me away! But I'm wondering if the wine pairings will be too much wine...it's 6 courses, correct? Is that 6 glasses of wine?

I believe it is 6 glasses--counting the champagne at the beginning of the meal. But these are pretty standard pours--not full glasses. In a bit over 2 and a half hours, along with food. We always do the pairings and I'm still quite comfortable driving back to OKW after dinner. Full--but comfortably so.

Plus--you really don't need to finish off each and every glass. Sometimes we wind up talking etc and haven't finished the one glass prior to the next course. They'll just remove what you haven't finished.

Thanks for putting it in perspective. Funny you said that...I told hubby last night, I know we really don't need to finish each glass...:rotfl: I'm glad they serve the yummy coffee at the end. :thumbsup2

If you love wine, do not miss the wine pairing at V&A. DH and I like to order different things for each course so we have more things to taste, plus we each get the wine pairing and get to try alot of different wines that way! The pours are not huge, but beware -- we were given refills (is that the right word?) on wines we finished (and, therefore, must have really liked!)

Thank you laurabelle and oybolshoie! I took your advice and I called again today and JIKO is available.

Now I'll keep trying for LeCellier. They have a slot open for 8:30 but that is way too late for me to eat dinner. No, no, no! :sad2: Tummy (acid reflux) doesn't like late dinners.

As you can see, I'm new to the Dis. I just love it!! Thanks everyone.

mr

We have been to all of the restaurants that you mentioned, and one other that we had a very, very nice dinner at was Bistro de Paris. Have fun!
