Hi there!

We just booked Victoria and Alberts for our trip in August and I have a few questions. We have actually eatten there before on our Honeymoon in 2000, but I can't remember much about it, other than we thought it was neat.

1. Do they usually have a "Boring People" offering? My husband will eat anything, but if it doesn't cluck or moo, I am not likely to eat it. Occasionally I will eat something that oinks, but only very rarely. I recall that I had stuff to eat last time, but looking at some menus on-line, I didn't see much that looked like I would eat it.

2. We are staying at All Star Music. Can I assume that with reservations at 9:00pm, we are probably better off driving from there to the Grand Floridian?

3. Are the super cool Coffee maker things still there?

4. We can go in shorts and a t-shirt right? We figured that we would head over from a park since we are on vacation and all. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :bounce: :bounce:

Okay, I was JOKING about Number 4. :)

It has been as long ago since my DH and I dined at V & A, but I often take a peak at the recent menus on Allearsnet.com. It looks like there is always a meat or fowl option available as a main course offering as well as a vegetarian option.

I also remember that we were asked specifically by our Victoria if either of us had food alergy issues or preferences about what we ate--which I didn't expect as we weren't at the Chef's table. I believe V & A would accomodate your tastes and would leave off ingredients which were not to your liking without a fuss.

I would like to encourage you to try some things you may not have in the past...you may be surprised that you actually like something that sounded a bit strange. I had never had foie gras (sp?) (goose liver) before V & A. It was not something I would have ever ordered, but it was included on one of the menu items I chose. It tasted good, but was a strange texture to me--not something I would go out of my way to order again, but I'm glad I did try it.

Enjoy your experience at V & A's...I'm hoping to get back there before too long.

We have been to V & A four times now. The last time we went, nothing really looked good to me. So, I just picked what sounded best. Well, it was probably some of the best food I have ever had. I HATE squash. So for the warm appetizer, I ordered some kind of fish (that was very tasty) and DBF ordered the squash soup. He convinced me to try a taste. I finished the soup, he finished the fish. In fact, my least favorite part of that dinner was the chocolate dessert and I am a chocoholic. The dessert was delicious, everything else was beyond expectation.

I have tried food there (and fallen in love with it) that I never thought I would ever try. One of my favorites was squid ink pasta! It was amazing! I am sure you will find something that will that you will love. And, just the presentation of the meal makes it a great treat. Enjoy

The coffee makers were still there as of last fall. And I'm so glad the soup course returned. We were eating at the Chef's Table, and I commented how I had been hoping we would get soup since it's always exquisite there. The Chef said that they had recently brought the soup course back, so we timed it right!

I'll eat most things, but I am picky about particular vegetables. You'll never see me eat squash, zucchini, beets, cauliflower and assorted others outside of restaurants like V&A, but when I'm there, I'll eat whatever they put in front of me. Only real exceptions would be onions or bell peppers. I don't like bell peppers in ANY form, and although I love the flavor of onion, I can't stand the taste/texture of them if they're stand alone in the dish.

1. Like others said, try diffent things. I'm a picky eater and I liked everything I ate. Like aunties said, I don't like squash either and I loved the squash thing they served (I think it was a sauce). My menu from last November is on All Ears.

2. I think it would be easier to drive there if you have a car. We always drive from resort to resort for a meal.

3. The coffee maker was there last November.

4. Yes, wear your shorts and t-shirts. Bathing suits and looking like you just came from the pool would be great too. :rotfl2:

Hope you have a great time. :)
