Thought I'd never get through, but here goes:
I called Disney Dine at 7:30 on the dot - as soon as child #1 was out the door for school. The est. hold time was under 4 minutes. "That doesn't sound so bad", I thought. Sure enough, at 7:33, CM (who sounded much like Roz from Monsters) picked up. I told her I'd like to make ADRs for upcoming trip. She seemed a bit impatient, and asked "for which restaurant". I said, I'd like to start with Biergarten on June 9. She said she'd have to transfer me to a dining specialist. I *THOUGHT* that's who I called
. I'm sure it was "old system" transfering to "new system", but it seems to be wasted time.
So at 7:34, she transfered me to a dining specialist hold queue.
And there I sat until 8:00 on the DOT. (funny aside: DH texted me while I was holding and asked if I was wearing my "ears"...I ran upstairs and put them on to help the process along
.
So - at 8:00 on the dot, CM (her name was Lori Peach) picked up. She was very nice and efficient. I asked her how she liked the new system and she was very positive about it - said she was still in the process of learning it, but that it seemed like it was going to be so much better than the old. I was all done by 8:18 - so less than 20 minutes for 8 ADRs after a 30 minute hold. Not that bad.
I got all my ADRs, as follows:
Sci-Fi Drive In - June 5th (lunch)
Boma - June 6 (Breakfast)
WCC - June 6 (Dinner)
Chefs de France - June 7 (Dinner)
O'Hana - June 8 (Dinner)
Biergarten - June 9 (Dinner)
Coral Reef - June 10 (Dinner)
The times I got were all within about 20 minutes of what I was aiming for, with the exception of Sci-Fi, where my lunch will be at 11:00 am instead of 12:00. I didn't think it would be that hard to get into, but 11:00 will be OK - we'll just have a pastry for breakfast.
I don't know how the old system was, but with the new system, you give a "target" time and the system will throw out a time that is close to your target. So, when I thew out a time of 7:00 for Biergarten, it offered 6:55. The wierd thing was when I asked for a 12:00 lunch, it came back with a 2:40 lunch. I said, maybe put in the opening time and see what comes back, and that is when I got the 11:00.
Anyway, it wasn't too terribly painful - I was starting to get tired of the hold music and infomercial guy after about 20 minutes, but putting on my mouse ears helped.
