Didn’t know this board existed until today. I really need some help, I am getting married on November 1st in Disney, here is the problem ... I bought a wedding dress in January and it fitted perfectly, since then I have had some family troubles, both my step father and mother in law have been diagnosed with cancer in the last few months and I have been comfort eating and the weight has slowly gained. I decided the only way to lose it would be going to weight watchers, I was so shocked when they weighted me, I was 14 stone (196lbs) this is 20lbs heavier than I normally am and I need to lose it in 2 months for my fitting!
I am in panic mode, can anyone give me some encouragement or any successful ways to lose weight. Buying another dress is not an option, it cost £1000 ($1,700) and I just don’t feel sexy anymore.
I don’t know where to start, anyone has any nice low fat recipes ... please

:welcome: to the WISH board!!

deep breath-- ok -- i'm not sure exactly what to say to help you lose quickly -- did you ask at WW meeting? i know my dietician gave me plans to lose between 1-2 lb per week -- you have 13 weeks so i would think 20 lbs will be doable. but no joke, it may be tough. YOU CAN DO IT! take it day by day and try not to focus on the whole picture. set some minigoals -- maybe 7 lbs a month, and aim for 1.5 - 2 lbs per week.

there are some recipes at the top of the forum in the "Healthy Eating" sub-board -- check those out for starters :yay:

off the top of my head I would suggest cutting out the 'white' stuff and processed foods. no fast food for now. it may be a bit like detox for the first 2-3 days, hang in there. the cravings will slow down and you will lose your taste for the junk foods. :thumbsup2

there is a wealth of knowledge here -- and LOTS of support. jump right in where you feel comfortable and join us! there is a WW (weight watcher) thread where you can pick the brains of some WW experts! There is always a monthly "Lose 5 for ....." challenge and all are welcome! if exercise is your downfall, how about our monthly exercise challenge??

follow the link in my signature to get your 'official' WISH clipart -- it may help you to see that in your posts daily and remind you we are here and in this together!!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: much PD -- you can do it!
ONWARD AND DOWNWARD!

Good for you for walking through the doors of WW! That's the hardest part. :cool1: Are you doing the Core Plan or the Flex Plan? Set realistic goals for yourself. Like, set a goal of 5 pounds a month. That way, when you do BETTER than that, it will be more encouraging for you. Once you see you can lose 5 pounds, you will be more motivated to keep going. If you follow the plan faithfully, you can usually expect to lose 1/2 to 2 pounds a week. Keep yourself on track by looking at pictures of your dress.

there was a bit on the television the other day that if you eat fish non stop you loose weight without dieting as such. they did a survey. We all started eating fish about 3 months ago because my son had liver problems and the doc said there was omega etc in oily fish. salmon, lemon sole. My son lost weight as did we all never thinking until we heard the bit on the television. I am not one for eating loads of tish to be honest but if you vary what you eat you don't sicken yourself.

good luck :sunny:

(just whispering: if you see like two weeks before the fitting that you're not close to the wedding dress-weight: Modifast for two weeks. it's not the healthiest diet/ choice in the world... but for once it shouldn't be a problem)
